From the owner:
Quote
The top 2 are $6950 retail, each.  The bottom 2 are $7950 retail.  Trade is less 35%.  Please note, these are 100% authentic, collected in Ghana and used.  Big Trouble in Little China was actually eaten by a goat.  Also, all four are featured in our upcoming book on the subject.

Thanks for the inquiry.  Let us know how we can help.

Best,

This 18th century colonialist wannabe probably bought these for $1 each.  And what an asshole for naming his store "Be Primitive"?

Yup, he's got the hype machine working overtime.  I like the idea of the book, as it's a way to expose them to a larger audience, but the "gallery prices" are ridiculous.  I have no problem with a gallery owner making a profit, even a healthy profit, as they're the ones that bring many pieces/artists to light, but this is the equivalent of prison rape

I like how he charges extra for the Big Trouble in Little China because it was chewed by goats. That is proof at how primitive these advertisements are!  Shit, I bet even the goat was primitive too... to bad he didn't get photos of the sickly, fly-covered beast chewing the poster.  Then it would have been worth twice as much!

I have seen them for way less than that, but still in the $300 range, which was too expensive for me, even for titles I was interested in.

They all look the same to me.  Bad art, bad drawings, awful colors... I am sure there are WAY better artists in Ghana, just not the ones drawing posters.

I'd pay $100 for a poster to complete a collection.  Other than that, the guy is out of his mind.

Well, he got two out of the three stars right.  I am not sure what happened with Keira.  And it doesnt look like it was done by a kid that is repeating 2nd grade because he failed art class.  Its a start at least!

oh for fuck's sake, they all look like paintings by grade school art students.  could you imagine, $7000 for that matrix "painting/poster" ?

Yes Holiday... but they are "primitive".  That is why they are worth thousands and thousands of dollars.

Primitive is right.  As I told someone else a few minutes ago, they look like cave art minus the anthropological significance.

Exactly.  What I'd like to see is the Matrix "poster" on the wall of a pre-colombian cave.  Now THAT would be interesting.
Best regards,

Holiday
