This is the exact kind of post that made me want to join the forum. Lots of wild speculation, unchecked claims, etc....
Its a little Nagel in nature but I wouldnt mind snagging that Drake .. I heard that Mitch owns! Talk about a conflict of interest
Very Nagel. I'll assume the second part is a joke.
Although if you notice it seems like Stouts work is getting "cleaner" and making it more appealing, his run sizes and the movies they have been giving him lately havent been the best choices IMHO .. This years hes done..
The FP,
He was commissioned by the filmmakers, not Mondo.
Kill Bill (somewhat exclusive with the screening)
Can't imagine there's a complaint about subject matter here.
Akira (MMM Exclusive)
Again, plenty big movie (which Tyler chose), small run, don't know how this works with your argument.
Capt America (not the best print hes put out and I am a Marvel fan)
Maybe you don't like the print, but you admit that you thought it was a good hire when it comes to subject matter.
Assault on Precinct 13 .. I mean come on .. they even made 2 separate releases for that print )
Tyler asked to do this one.
and now Treks WoK .. Now Some may love the last one .. but Im not a huge Trekkie .. Although I do have Taylors ST piece that one is just cool artwork .. I couldnt care less about the movie.
That's fine, you may not like it, but it's one of the biggest sci-fi films of all time. Like, no shit, Plant of the Apes level.
It's an odd world we live in where Kill Bill, Akira, Captain America, and Wrath of Khan are considered small movies not worth Tyler's time, or second-class jobs, or whatever is being argued here. As for the other two, he wanted to do them, and we have nothing but appreciation and love for Tyler, so we were more than happy to oblige.
You seem to think there is some veiled strategy at play here, which there just isn't. We give both artists the jobs they like to do. Weird argument, seriously.
