Have been buying a few posters on Ebay and found the link to this site. Was suspicious one of the posters I bought was a fake and found out the seller is well known here for selling fakes on EBay. Fortunatly the seller I spent the most with (filmposters.com)  seems to have a much better reputation. The three posters I bought from him seem authentic and are in the condition he claimed they were.

I have signed up with the two poster auctions I found here and will probably buy mostly from them from now on. Sure glad I found this place before I spent too much on EBay. As a Candian, the PayPal and currency conversion fees are blatent robbery to start with.

I have a US funds credit card (that PayPal refuses to let us use), so I will just buy from places where I can use that card from now on.

welcome1 I'm glad you found us here as well. The poster thang is an addiction (for some anyway...like me) and/or a wonderful hobby.
The eBay seller... Let me guess. TLOCE? If it is him, while he does sell some legit stuff, steer clear. He is known for FAKES!

The auction houses can be pricey, too. EMovie is your best bet--no hidden fees for buyers (just added shipping costs) and great at having accurate descriptions. Most of my shopping is from eMovie.
Anyway, welcome. Happy poster shopping. Feel free to share your collection when you can. We'd love to see it.

Yep. Thats who it was. Amazing that he can just keep going. I have bought about 20 posters on EBay and now have a list of sellers I trust. The good buys make up for the bad ones, and so far when I complain sellers will refund rather than get bad feedback. (Im in Canada, so after paying tax sending stuff back for a refund isnt a good option.)

Also bought a few posters at the auctons to try them out. Heritage just charged me $103 to ship two posters and I dont like their high buyer fees, so I wont be spending any great amount with them anymore. Emovieposter.com is more my speed.

Bruce and emovie are the best in the business! You can't go wrong spending your money there.

Enjoy the hobby. I got burned too when I started a decade ago, but you learn as you go along. My biggest advice is read as much as you can and ask questions before you spend your money (especially on anything 100+). Have fun!

I agree with Starling, eMovie is the best auction house out there for movie posters and other items.  Hands down! (And, if you'll recall, that was who I recommended in my first message to you. AWESOME!)

For newer titles on eBay, may I recommend fellow APFer, Dale Dilts? I have not seen him on here lately (NOt that I jump on all that often myself, lately. Life happens...), but he is honest and has a good selection and I often buy from him as well. https://www.ebay.com/usr/ddilts399 He's a good guy to add to your list.

Cheers

Yea, I would also endorse Bruce and emovieposter but I don't rule out the others as sometimes they all have some great titles.

It will be interesting when emovieposter eliminates the single under $20 items and moves them into bulk sales, I am a fan of the bulk items and use the 'pay and hold' feature to save on shipping costs. I live in the US.

It is interesting you mention TLOCE on Ebay - he currently has a cheap Ealing one sheet 'Nowhere to go' for $20 which is a good price for this (if genuine) but (even if it is genuine) I will not buy from him on principle.

TLOC refunded me for two inserts I also purchased claiming a truck ran over them during shipping. Maybe his poster printer broke down :)

I did two small test buys at Heratage and Emovieposters. Heritage asked me to rate my first buying experience. I dont think they will like the reply. Emovieposters.com is everything you guys say they are. I couldnt find anything to complain about with them.
