I haven't been collecting for as many years as others in the community. But, during the 7 or so years that I have been collecting, I've followed boards like MPF and NS4 that have been around during that time. I've also seen at least one other board come and go. And, there's been other boards that died before I entered the hobby.
Rather than thy to buttonhole what other boards do, I think I speak for Thierry too in wanting to talk about what we're trying to do. There is no board that meets the needs of all poster-collecting communities. We would like to fix that with All Poster Forum. So far, we set up the categories that you see. There may be other categories created over time, and some of the existing categories may not survive. But, Thierry and I want to provide a discussion space for all collectors.
I started collecting only double sided onesheet movies posters. Over time, I have started collecting various foreign movie posters. I also collect advertising posters and some commercial posters. There's even a few music-concert posters scattered through the collection. I have a few limited prints that would fit the graphic art posters section too. The point is, I am a collector, and my collecting interests vary over time, usually expanding in the field. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there with this experience.
There's another matter, too. Censorship. While this board will be moderated, it will not be censored so long as discussion relates to the topics listed. No hatters are allowed. That's pretty much the only rule. Say what you want, post what you want, and be ready to take what you dish out -- so long as it relates to the topics at hand. I am not thin-skinned and neither is Thierry. There will be no banning on this board so long as you stick to the topics at hand. If you really feel the need to talk about off-topic things, that's what the off-topic board is for. I don't care what you put there, so long as there's no hating.
I'm sure Thierry will have something to say. He always does....
