Just got this cool Italian 2P for Goliath and the Vampires (1961), with pulpy Symeoni artwork.

Oh yeah, I saw that the other day.  You bought it on Facebook, right?

Interesting.  I wonder what the incentive was to hairbrush a perfectly fine design.  Was there some legal aspect to it, like it can be the same but not really?

Yup stumbled into it on Facebook. Yeah I guess it gives someone a job and luckily they didn't butcher it.

I've been looking for a folded copy of Captive Wild Woman (1943) for a while now, so I'm glad I finally got my hands on this one.  This completes my poster collection for the Wild Woman trilogy, as I already own the US OS for Jungle Woman (1944) and Jungle Captive (1945).  All 3 movies are pretty bad, but the posters (especially for the first film in the series) are great.

Traditional 1940's cut 'n paste.

And I agree, Rich.... Classic poster creation for films from this decade and genre.  thumbup

Happy 140th Birthday to Warner Oland, who was born on this day in 1879. I bought this one sheet for Charlie Chan at Monte Carlo from Bruce's most recent major auction. I had wanted this poster for quite some time and it is my favorite Charlie Chan poster. Okie

Great looking poster, okie. Congrats! clap clap  bed1

From the poster descrip, it sounds like this poster was in really nice, solid condition, prior to backing. I wonder why the previous owner decided to take that extra step, when it sounds/reads like it wasn't really needed. Or possibly a purely aesthetic choice.

But the stone lithography is outstanding! True poster art.

Hi Jeff, Thanks for enjoying the image with me!  I'm not sure why it was backed and had slight (amateur?) restoration done probably back in the 1990s or before.  I'm actually going to send it to Mario to have him deacidify, reback, and cleanup the old restoration along with working his minimalist restoration magic.  I'm really glad Bruce got this particular poster back to sell again after many years. I had wondered where this beautiful copy had been living.  Okie

Beautiful Charlie Chan poster Oakie, I remember seeing in Bruce's recent auction and admiring it.  Personally I wish it wasn't backed, but that's just my own subjective hang up.  Excellent pick up nonetheless.

I hear you, Antoine. It sure looks to me that it would have been just fine being unbacked. I'm still not sure why it was backed probably 30 years ago other than the owner then preferred it.  Thanks for letting me know you like it, too! Okie

Excellent choice, okie. I'm sure he'll do an amazing job on the re-backing as well as any conservation and retouching you will have him do.  thumbsup.gif

Is it possible that the Aussie White Heat is actually better than the US material?  Why, yes, yes it is.  Nice.
