Rec.

Along with Audition, these had me squirming. Just look at that thing with the hammer.

By the way, Rec2 is one of the better sequels I've seen.

I have just watched one of the most disturbing films ever. :o

Sex and the City 2, Those people have aged Terribly, I shudder just thinking about it.

If there's another they may have to be CGI'd in.

It's more than a Hobby...

Not sure whether it's what you peeps would call 'disturbing', but the film that psychologically f*cks with my brain is The Shining... absolutely love it, but really need to watch it with someone holding my hand!

Maniac and TCM.....I think those films could actually happen in real life , very disturbing notion  :-X

Have they ever made a CH/TCM hybrid.......savages living in (for example) Indonesia , killing unsuspecting tourists with chainsaws and then eating them ?

Get Him to the Greek

Disturbing in the fact someone thought it would be a good idea to let Russel Brand loose in front of the camera again!

well, it didn't REALLY, its based on real events, the same events that Psycho were based on, plus a few other films. But its a stretch to say they are historically correct.

Here's a li'l readin' about Ed Gein, the psycho-killer who inspired PSYCHO, TCM, DERANGED and many other twisted tales....

http://www.lsu.edu/faculty/jpullia/gein.htm

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Gein

Somewhere out there are photos of what the cops found at his home. I will not post a link to those monstrosities, but if you're brave enough, you can find them...

Real life is so often more disturbing than cinema.

I wont bother clicking, been reading about him since I was out of nappies (yes I was a weird kid), but none of the movies I have seen really capture it, TCM is my fave of the lot, Deranged holds a special place in my heart, Psycho is Psycho and remains the last film that scared me, when I was first allowed to stay home alone without a babysitter, I slept with a knife.
Creepy fella for sure. And I dont really want a true to life movie, whats been done is good for me.

A few films I found disturbing, some have already been mentioned:
Henry
High Tension
Calvaire: The Ordeal
Last House On The Left - There is something about a rape scene that makes a movie no-longer entertaining to me.

Aftermath. 30 minute short. Not for the faint of heart.

Aftermath - wasn't there something very similar done for the 'Tales From The Crypt' series??
Best wishes,
Adam

Having seen Aftermath many times I can safely say there is nothing like it in TALES FROM THE CRYPT.
its is a very  well made film. But yes DISTURBING.

Lol, Ari.
I mean, Tales From The Crypt is rather tame no doubt compared to Aftermath!
...the writer probably nicked the basis of the story from Aftermath!
Best wishes,
Adam

I assume its this aftermath we speak of

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0159241/

if so, there really is very little story to borrow.

if the pay off at the end (dog) was used, thats really the only "story" in it.

Its all aout style and content, not narrative.

That is it, Ari.  I agree that there is very little story.  I actually cannot recall any narrative.  Perhaps a few lines at the beginning.

Anyone here seen THREADS, the 1984 docudrama about the effects of a worldwide nuclear war?
Absolutely chilling and profoundly disturbing....

if I remember it correctly it is about a nuclear attack on Sheffield....I saw it when it was first broadcast on the BBC, not seen it since but I remember a scene of some family going about the most imaginable mundane task (arguing over toast or something) and this siren noise, or 'mushroom' appears and all panic ensues......don't think I got through to the end, I was quite young at the time

That is the one.  I saw it when it was first televised here in the States and I will never forget it.
I have been meaning to buy a copy on Ebay so that I can watch it again, but whenever I have some pennies to rub together, I buy a movie poster.

most distubing movies?....'Henry' most definetlely, 'Scum' (original BBC Play For Today), and probably the UK's answer to 'Henry' a low budget film called 'Tony' loosely based on Dennis Nielson. And the original 'Vanishing' (borrows heavily from Hitchcock) truely teffifying.....and having subtitles in an horror/thriller adds to the sense of paranoia

+100
You can say that again.  THE VANISHING -- what a film.
The last scene -- the revelation -- haunts me to this day.
The American 'remake' was such hog-waller.
