I have that one too.  It's an excellent piece but not exactly something you can put up in your living room.  Would make for quite the awkward conversation.

haha errr i have to say that the blue velvet poster is rather tame compared to some of the pieces in my collection, a large part of it in fact :)

Does anyone round these parts happen to know if the amazing Enzo Sciotti artwork for the Stephen King-based werewolf movie Silver Bullet (which is here, on the Italian poster: http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/archiveitem/6237399.html) was used on a US 1-sheet?

They were discussing the Sciotti image on the (excellent) Poster Boys podcast as though it was the main US poster for this film, but all the digging I've done suggests that the only poster in the US campaign was the more understated art of the moon above the woods.

Hey Matthew!
I've never seen the Sciotti art on an American "Silver Bullet" poster.  I'm guessing the Poster Boys saw one of the many altered 'internet versions' with an english title substitution like this:  http://musiccityhorror.com/mch-halloween-movie-list-day-10-silver-bullet/
I'm afraid these photo-shopped images of many original movie posters will grow and further confuse collectors of actual original designs.  Oh well.

Thanks, Ted, for clarifying -- makes sense. As you said, frustrating, but at least it saves an endless wild goose chase trying to find one!!!

Sad to read that Enzo appears to have passed away. A brilliant and prolific artist.

This was terrible news. He has really been rolling in the alt poster scene of late and it was great seeing him publishing new work in the film world.

I was bummed too when I read earlier today that he had passed.  I'm especially partial to his work on Lucio Fulci's movies, so iconic of that era.

I woke up top the news this morning.
It's so hard to believe he's gone.
I guess I was really lucky to be able to talk to him when I did.
He was a VERY nice guy and a pleasure to work with.
He told me my poster would be a one of a kind...now I'm going to cherish it.
May he RIP.

24 x 36 Sciotti "The Shining" numbered xx/45 art print. His "Interview with the Vampire" is on its way as well. I just learned about him when the unfortunate mention of his passing revived this thread - love his work.

Thanks for the tip.  I just bought The Shining.  One of my favorite movies, Kubrick, Sciotti, I had to get it!

I didn't see this one in your collection, so I thought you might be interested. I've been spending my money on updating my camera gear lately, so not many poster buys. But this is Kubrick, and like you said, I had to have it.

Trust me, posters buys have been limited for a lot of us, mainly because there is nothing to buy.  I haven't bought so few posters in years.
