Some old tourism or advertising stuff ...
« on: February 05, 2016, 08:55:55 AM »
As promised to Steve I will try to post a few extra posters now and then ....
Most of them are older (stone) lithos , some are keepers for my own collection, other are most likely to be sold in near future ......

First one fresh from backing ....still on the frame ....

Georges Meunier Trianon poster , stamp dated 25 May 1898 ....

Maybe the first recorded "nipple slip" ever ????
I love the "tâche de beauté" on the girls cheek .... so French ...

1912 small format poster for Car and aviation exposition at Brussels.
(Still in pursuit of the big sized one, matter of an agreement on the price, so his big brother might be for the near future)

Certainly does look like a nipple slip. That's got to be a keeper  thumbsup.gif

I've seen quite a number of older posters that seem to reveal a bit more than expected, if analysed a bit... Like a slightly exaggerated brush stroke or a little more shading through the clothing. I sometimes think some artists try to see if they can slip things past the design approvers

Well she'll be gone soon (normally next PAI auction) to serve a bigger purpose...I've set my mind on a (very) expensive Ostend poster .... so got to bring a daughter to the slaughter ...
