Title: My only theater poster
Post by: Threenero on July 11, 2012, 02:45:29 PM
Got this back in '88 or '89 while on a school trip to see the play
we went on the last night and after the show there was guys ripping down these posters and throwing them into large black bags  :-[

So i removed this one myself and took it home
Looking back maybe i should have had it signed by Brendon, who was there watching me take it, but he wasn't famous back then so i didn't bother  :-\

It's about 4ft by 6ft so spends most of it's life rolled up.

I'll use this thread to post my "only" theater poster too.

Polish B1 of the stage play version of Carmen:

This is my ONLY theatre poster, a Window Card for The Rocky Horror Show (1975) (not The Rocky Horror Picture Show as the movie was called) for the Belasco Theatre

The stage show originally played on Broadway in 1975 having played in Los Angeles from March 1974 to January 1975. After three previews, it opened in March 1975 at the nine-hundred-sixty-seven-seat Belasco Theatre. The critics panned the show, and it closed in April 1975 after just forty-five performances, it didn’t play Broadway again until October 2000...

I only have one theatre poster, as well.. and it was a gift from my mom and sister who went to NY to see Wicked in 2007. Not my thing but it was the thought that counted. It was similar to this one, signed by the early 2007 cast. It has been rolled and kept in its shipping tube since then, unfortunately.

It's very cool. It's the one stage show I have missed that I wished I hadn't as I have heard it is very good - will have to wait for it to come round this way again in the future.

I've got the same one - but unfortunately mine is in somewhat rough condition.  Still a cool item!
