hey, maybe one of you guys can actually help me out on something
I have some great concert posters in my stash, including that classic Springsteen at the Bottom Line poster
I'm wondering what that specific poster is worth today, as well as a stack of 30 or so other posters I have.. is anyone here up to snuff on these values.
alternatively.. where can I find list of concert posters values??

I can't think of the site right now, Rich, but I know there is at least one forum out there that is dedicated to these posters. Obviously, they are popular and expensive. But I have no idea on pricing. My only wish with the concert posters is that they did more in larger formats. They all seem to be something like 11x17 or so.

contemporary posters - yes.. older posters.. I used to sell them 35 years ago and for the most part (in New York at least) they were all 1 sheet size and used for wilding
I don't ever recall seeing one displayed at an actual venue
today of course, they're either displayed on telephone poles, or in ticket windows which is why they have a small size
-
oh.. I forgot, they also were printed as Falmily Dog and Filmore posters at a window card size.
I must have had 3000 of those at one point in the late 70s

Isn't this Gigposters.com (http://www.gigposters.com)'s turf? For example, here are the Led Zeppelin posters (http://gigposters.com/band/3419_Led_Zeppelin.html).
Wolfgang's Vault (http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/poster-art/) sells a lot of vintage concert posters too.

I checked both
Wolfgang has sold the poster but doesn't have one listed
sadly, most sites, unless they have posters listed for sale, do not keep reference available
Heritage has sold the poster, but not for 5 years. their last sale was $358

Rich,
You got any 13th Floor Elevators posters? This is the only one I ever got, mint condition, first printing:

I have a bunch of modern concert posters, mostly Guided By Voices, but I think the above one is the only vintage one I got.

THAT is a very cool poster, Louie. Love the design...

Rich, call me.

This is one of my rock concert posters:

It is signed by all three of the artists who designed it: Alton Kelley, Randy Tuten and Stanley Mouse

I buy, sell and trade posters all the time but there is one in my collection that i would not trade or sell:

This is an original promotional poster for the Powder Milk Biscuit Band from 1974, the year Garrison Keillor started the Prairie Home Companion in St. Paul MN. It was given to me by one of the band members. I'm sure there must be others like it but I've never seen or heard of one.

I'll have three on eBay later today (my userid is webuysem)

Hey John...
as a simple reminder.. please do not use the non selling threads to promote or push ebay listings, OK?
If wanted, you can list F/S items here in this thread:

Thanks!

When i went to click on your link above, a window appeared saying access to that link was Forbidden. :-\

Jeff,
I don't want to attach a picture because of the space problem and the html "<img src" method doesn't work here either. I checked my server and the permissions are set to allow public access. I was also able to view the photo OK on one of my desktops but not the other. Do you have any idea how I can fix this?
One thing I discovered is that if you copy that link and paste it into a new URL, you can see the picture. For some reason it doesn't want to show itself here.
thanks
John

Not sure, John. Do you have some kind of firewall or something in place?
This is what i see, when i click on your url above:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /00pic/powdermilk.jpg on this server.
-
Jeff,
That's what I see too, but only on APF. As I said, it is not really a matter of "permissions," because I have permissions set on my server to allow public access, and I can look at the pictures on my server from any other location. hmm

Would certainly love to but 99.9% sure I'm not going to be there. It's going to be interesting just to see how Tommy Hall is holding it together!

OK this is what I was trying to do. I had to tinker with the .htaccess file to grant access to APF.

Or just try this, tho your image files are quite large. Maybe you have a file size on your layout that is not the "supersize" image, John?

Jeff,
What you show in your example was the first thing I tried (with the Powdermilk Biscuit Band poster) but I don't like embedded images that are so big, so I did another one adding width="500", which caused the image to load on a second page. I'm not sure the reason for that, but I still like that better than embedding a giant image. Next time I'll just use the "<img src" embed method with a much smaller image. I didn't do that today because I was just looking for a way I could manage pictures on AFP for future reference and didn't feel like going back and generating a special image for APF this time.
