Title: What Music They Make
Post by: erik1925 on February 01, 2018, 10:59:36 PM
Jim Gresham's newest book is out and available. Titled "What Music They Make," this is the latest publication from J Gresham, containing many unbefore seen LC and posters (according to the author's description).

It looks like another fine poster book.  thumbsup.gif clap clap

Listed at $129.99

Enjoyable cover.  Serious price.

Very true.

To be honest, I'm not understanding the $130.00 price tag at all, either.

I wrote and asked Jim about the book cost.

He explained that self publishing costs, paying an assistant/researcher to gather and take the photos and his costs to gather much of the imagery had added up to a pretty penny.

But he also reminded me that when his first 2 books were initially released and available for purchase ("Children of the Night" and "They're Here Already"), the purchase price for those were $119.00 and $99.00

In looking to see if Gresham's book was also on Amazon (it is but currently out of stock), I happened to see that his second book, published in 2011, entitled They're Here Already, is being sold for. Available from only 2 sellers on Amazon, I almost fell over at what each is asking for their F/S copies:  faint2.gif

So $129.00 for the new book doesnt seem all that high, now.

His first book, Children of the Night, Ive see for a much lower price, too, but not the 2nd.

Could you post an Amazon link for his second book?

One seller has Children for $68.77

In checking, all the other shown copies are well over $100.00, with the top priced copy of Children being just over $4540.00!! (at least as is showing on Amazon US). Yikes!!

There’s a copy of Children... on eBay UK for £19.99!

And the second book They’re Here Already for $120 or best offer on eBay US.

So I wouldn’t think anyone will actually pay thousands for it :)

It’s also worth searching in AbeBooks. They have They’re Here even cheaper:

Always good to hunt around and look at various book sellers, for used (new) or OOP editions, and then decide on price based on condition, etc.

Jim Gresham also has a little link/website for his most recent book. It can be bought directly from him, here, too.
