Title: Giving credit where credit is due!
Post by: Bruce on August 24, 2013, 03:06:39 PM
Whether you love Movie Poster Forum or feel the opposite, it is well worth noting that over the past several months the number of PAID sponsors has steadily risen, to where there are now TWENTY THREE paid sponsors with ads.

I find this truly remarkable, and an accomplishment well worth noting. Perhaps it speaks to the growth or strength of the hobby, or perhaps it speaks to the amazing marketing skills of the website owner, or perhaps both.

Who knows if they are all paying. You may be the only one who pays for your ad!

I'm not sure what the issue is.

is the issue that MPF has 23 banners or that people have to pay for them?
is there a reason why such an issue is necessary to comment on 3rd party forums and not MPF itself?
is the post a "conglatulatory" response or is it meant to be a "snipe" at the forum owner...?

I am NOT one of the 23 (mostly because the ONLY paid advertising I do is with two very old friends, and that is more of a "friendship thing" than anything else). I am not being facetious. I never would have imagined that 23 advertisers could be found to pay for year round ads. To my mind it is a major accomplishment.

Yes - especially when, last I checked, tumbleweeds don't buy or collect many posters

I do think Bruce has something here, I can't win a thing lately. Posters seem to be fetching stilly prices, even for bottom end titles.

I don't think it has anything to do with that other site, just the hobby is picking up momentum...and this is usually a good time of year to buy, with everyone being outside more, and going on Holiday...

whew.. that took some time.. I've been busy for the last 48 hours calling corporations like McDonalds, Wal Mart and General Motors that paid advertising is a waste of money and they should only look for FREE advertising. It was an uphill climb, but I think I convinced .000000000000000000000000000000001% of corporate executives to change their ways.. Google should be out of business shortly as their ad revenue disappears

Maybe we should start billing Rich for his signature ads.
There are over 5600 of them on the forum already.....
Just a thought.
 ;)
