im just curious to know if anyone has a quad for the movie island of death?
i know it had a UK release as i have a double bill quad with tourist trap. but was wondering if it got a quad on its own?
or in fact any other paper for that movie? the only paper i can find is a horrid looking german poster.
also curious if anyone has a thriller quad? i think the only time ive ever seen one was in a movie i watched, but i forget which is was now?

ISLAND OF DEATH (aka DEVILS IN MYKONOS aka ISLAND OF PERVERSION) was released in Japan:

The poster is available from a highly-respected dealer whom I personally know very well: http://posteroid.com/proddetail.php?prod=IslandOfPerversion

Can't place either of those on a Quad at the moment. Do you have a pic of the double bill, it may jog my Very old Memory...

OOOOHHH! thats quite nice! but it isnt the one i have. mine only has a tiny sliver with the ilsand of death logo at the bottom tagged onto a tourist trap quad.

I believe there s some confusion as to which film titled ISLAND OF DEATH ...
The one I assumed is WHO CAN KILL A CHILD?
Which I think this quad is, but Armins isnt.
-
There are two movies with the title ISLAND OF DEATH.
One is from Greece and is also called ISLAND OF PERVERSION or DEVILS IN MYCONOS. It a pretty nasty film about a couple visiting a Greek island where they start killing and raping people. The movie is banned in a few countries (including Germany). The first poster from me further up is from that one.
The second is a Spanish movie about children killing grown ups on an island and is also called WHO CAN KILL A CHILD?

The first artwork version of WHO CAN KILL A CHILD? is also available on the Posteroid (http://posteroid.com/proddetail.php?prod=WhocankillaChild).

yeah thats what I meant,
-
oh i never knew who can kill a child referred to as island of death?
but i am talking about the ridiculous movie set on mykonos directed by the dude that went on to direct episodes of 3-2-1 with dusty bin! haha
also odd that the only poster i could find on ebay was german, and the film was banned there!
-
I just double-checked. Apparently the movie is not banned in Germany.
No idea whether the first cinema release was cut, but the early video releases were. Now there is an uncut DVD.
It was banned on VHS in the UK I believe.

there's no daybill for that island of death (perversion) it wa released here on video though.

Hi, Folks!
That's the one! The ISLAND OF DEATH featured in the double-bill quad shown in my earlier post, dates from 1976 and was also known as DEATH IS CHILD'S PLAY. The director was Narciso Ibanez Serrador who did indeed direct 405 episodes of 3-2-1 in Spain, which was where that programme originated before it came to the UK - without Mr Serrador.
This is definitely the thread for trivia today!

This is where it gets confusing ... the ISLAND OF DEATH which was aka DEVILS IN MYKONOS was a year later than the the ISLAND OF DEATH aka DEATH IS CHILD'S PLAY ... and wasn't directed by the 3-2-1 guy! DEVILS IN MYKONOS was directed by Nico Mastorakis.
The 3-2-1 guy was Narciso Ibanez Serrador ... who directed DEATH IS CHILD'S PLAY.
So, was DEATH IS CHILD'S PLAY also set on Mykonos ... ? That would explain some of the confusion!

Terry
Mastorakis..
I can remember as a kid seeing this image.
I could be mis forgetting but i`m sure the "quad" had this fixed scream image either left or right of the poster, the rest was an extended view of the beach behind his shoulders, with cast etc filling in the remainder..
Best

... and ... I am again indebted to Sim Branagahan - author of the indispensible BRITISH FILM POSTERS publication ... for reminding me that I supplied him with the following poster a while ago ...
... yes, folks ... it's the Mastorakis ISLAND OF DEATH which was retitled A CRAVING FOR LUST for its 1977 release by Winstone Film Distibutors ... complete with Sam Peffer artwork! Glad we've cleared that up ... thanks, Sim!
Best wishes,

... and not forgetting THRILLER ...

... again, with thanks to Sim for the reminder!

There are 2 different quads for THRILLER, I think the other one has a Mary Millington sex movie as co-feature and different colors.
-
Sim wonders if maybe you were thinking of this one ...

We are again indebted to Sim for the following "fun fact" which is taken from Bryan Bird's 2010 Amazon review of Norman Warren's 'Satan's Slave' (1976) / 'Terror' (1978) DVD twin-pack release:
"In 'Terror' one of the doomed Garricks is a film producer, and in his office you can see the promotional posters for both 'Satan's Slave' and 'Thriller' (which, as far as I know, Warren didn't have anything to do with). The implication is that Garrick is sort of a low budget schlock film producer, which is, I suppose, some kind of ironic commentary on how Warren felt about his own films."

Diggin' Terry/Sim's pics and anecdotes.
To quote Sean, "PHWOAR!!!!"
