New here, and excited to finally have a place to share my collection with like minded folks. My collection is focused primarily on films from the mid-70's through the late 80's, but as you see here with my first three examples, I often stray. I'm a sucker for films that really impact me, or posters from any era with strong design elements. Here we go.....
- 'Critters' (style B)
- 'Funny Games'
- 'It Follows' (ds, int'l)

Thanks everybody. I appreciate the warm welcome!
I've only been collecting for a little over a year, but I dove into it hard and heavy and haven't looked back since :)

Your FilmArmada certainly looks more promising than the Spanish Armada (sorry couldn't resist)
On a more serious note, may I ask? How are you storing your posters? Are those acid-free files or boxes?
-
All creepshow paper is good for me!

Thanks... They are all stored in a system of cardboard file folders lined with acid free tissue paper, with the same tissue paper between each poster in the folder. The folders all fit into a larger filing storage box.

Very nice, this. Make sure not to store folded posters with rolled ones.

Thank you. Most helpful. It looks like a good storage system.

Great stuff! The scene in Critters 2 when the farmer gets run over by the giant ball of Critters made such an impact on me LOL! The Blob poster I feel is underrated. So creepy.

Hey thanks! I'm working on picking up all of the domestic paper for parts I & II, then will probably move on to foreign. The Polish sheet for the original film is killer.
Agreed on 'The Blob,' especially looking at it full size/up close, it's really effective.
-
I have never seen that version of Edward before. Is it from the original release?
-
Found one here, as a reference, Chris:

Appreciate the help, Jeff!

The one above is the domestic final.
There is also the intl. style B, which is a little more difficult to find (but not that hard). With a butterfly!

Thanks, Rosa! Very underrated early CG film...love watching it with my kids.

OOooo such nice stuff, Filmarmada... You are off to a super great start! The IT FOLLOWS is great. i need to score one of those. Congrats on that---and the others! You fit right in. Welcome to the madness.
-
Thanks again, Monster! Believe or not, the IT FOLLOWS was for sale on the production company's website even after it started going for $150+ on the auction sites. Picked it up for $35 from them. Felt like Christmas!
-
ZOWIE!!!! Lucky you. GREAT score--and clever of you to find it that way.
-
And it looks like the posters are now long gone from the direct site. The page isnt even found anymore, if you click on the link.

Jeff, thanks for researching that. I was going to--but figured they were gone already...and I had no idea where to begin looking. I had no idea that thread existed. THANKS for pointing it out (as usual).

OOOooo I need to get myself a PUMPKINHEAD...or maybe I already have one? I dig it. The Italian WRAITH looks nothing like the US version---nice. And the Polish CRITTERS, well typical abstract/avant garde Polish. Wonderful stuff there today...

Thanks, Jeff! I've got my eye on Style B, which I think is equally good for this under the radar horror!
-
Nice, Chris. And the "pumpkin" creature itself in the movie, was also top notch & Very creepy.

Shockwaves

Very nice.
This film is one of my guilty pleasures and I've been meaning to score the one sheet.
Good for you.
cheers
-
Hey thanks, Brude!
Some posters I hold closer than others and this is one of them... fond memories of seeing the case on the video store shelves with this artwork on it and thinking, "I have no clue what this is about, but I need to watch it right now."
-
Great score on the Shock Waves US OS poster, Chris. Ive always liked the imagery and seeing it again has made me add it to my "want" list.
Congrats on getting a copy. thumbsup.gif

I 2nd that... I really love the SHOCK WAVES poster as well. Jeepers. I've been collecting for 40 years...how did I never get one of these?
