Title: FilmArmada's Collection
Post by: Chris9000 on February 15, 2016, 08:43:41 PM
New here, and excited to finally have a place to share my collection with like minded folks. My collection is focused primarily on films from the mid-70's through the late 80's, but as you see here with my first three examples, I often stray. I'm a sucker for films that really impact me, or posters from any era with strong design elements. Here we go.....

Thanks everybody. I appreciate the warm welcome!

I've only been collecting for a little over a year, but I dove into it hard and heavy and haven't looked back since  :)

Your FilmArmada certainly looks more promising than the Spanish Armada (sorry couldn't resist)

On a more serious note, may I ask? How are you storing your posters? Are those  acid-free files or boxes?

Thanks... They are all stored in a system of cardboard file folders lined with acid free tissue paper, with the same tissue paper between each poster in the folder. The folders all fit into a larger filing storage box.

Very nice, this.  Make sure not to store folded posters with rolled ones.

Great stuff! The scene in Critters 2 when the farmer gets run over by the giant ball of Critters made such an impact on me LOL! The Blob poster I feel is underrated. So creepy.

Hey thanks! I'm working on picking up all of the domestic paper for parts I & II, then will probably move on to foreign. The Polish sheet for the original film is killer.

Agreed on 'The Blob,' especially looking at it full size/up close, it's really effective.

The one above is the domestic final.

There is also the intl. style B, which is a little more difficult to find (but not that hard).  With a butterfly!

Thanks again, Monster! Believe or not, the IT FOLLOWS was for sale on the production company's website even after it started going for $150+ on the auction sites. Picked it up for $35 from them. Felt like Christmas!

Some posters I hold closer than others and this is one of them... fond memories of seeing the case on the video store shelves with this artwork on it and thinking, "I have no clue what this is about, but I need to watch it right now."
