As for "The Room"--like everything else, it is an acquired taste. Unfortunately when I saw it, I did not acquire the taste for it. It may be the "best worst movie ever" (I thought that title belonged to "Troll 2"),but I thought it was just dreadful and so tedious to sit through. Go see it if you like but I can not recommend it.

Can't believe I missed Triangle...and its been out for 6 years!  Really enjoyed it, stuff's right up my alley.  I'm smoke-signaling my thanks to Ted right now...

The Room is just about the funniest POS I've ever seen.
That gif is priceless.

Yo, Vick. You're welcome re: Triangle.

It had a b movie feel, the acting wasn't particularly great, but they did need a certain number of "bodies" in there to make the plot work.
The way they played out the idea was pretty original, i thought the movie was basically over and wondering WTF was going on at the end!
Anyway I was satisfied but I'm cheap like that.

as a twilight zone episode I would have liked it, I thought it was not enough of an "idea" to stretch to feature length.

Unlike many films I have accused of the same shortfall, I thought Triangle succeeded at feature-length.
Too bad for you.

Well, I won't give you my favorite 5, but I will give you 5 off the beaten path.  Those will be more likely to accomplish the objective.

1. Twilight Samurai

I think Twilight Samurai stays with you. There is something about that film that just holds on to you.

Wonderful film. Wonderful posters. For the lucky ones that managed to get the posters.

I'd say The Small Back Room as a lesser known P and P is perfect if you have your own cinema room (great sound), THEMROC of Claude Faraldo is a little known surreal gem as is TOUCHE PAS A LA FEMME BLANCHE by Marco Ferreri. If you like noir QUAI DES BRUMES with a young Jean Gabin surely will hit the spot. Fort an introduction to colorful Japanese zaniness that does not hit too hard I recommend SURVIVE STYLE 5+ or SHARK SKIN MAN AND PEACH HIP GIRL both with Tadanobu Asano. For Alex de Iglesia I'd say EL DIA DELA BESTIA.

Yes! That film is great. And Santiago Segura (the heavy metal guy helping the priest) is superb. Actually all actors are fab in that film.
