I cant say I blame him for protecting the low end on items, I do think there will be a lot of passes today.
I see a few items I would like to add to the collection but some of the starting bids are way over the top, IMHO. Maybe they'll trickle down and be sold elsewhere.................
Even the items listed on ebay (the live auction items) had some very high opening estimates. But if Morrie can get that, all the more power to him. It shows the caliber of his material.
Which listings are those? How about that Metropolis card opening at $20k. All things considered, I'd say that is in the ballpark.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Metropolis-lobby-card-Lot-24-/111684274697?_trkparms=%26rpp_cid%3D556b5f42e4b001e7e151f2bd%26rpp_icid%3D556b5f41e4b0a88c4edb76a9Although the three that sold on eBay a few months ago had trimmed edges, they were a heckuva deal at $255.http://www.allposterforum.com/index.php/topic,237.msg169822/topicseen.html#msg169822Anyway, the one currently on eBay is rad.
Listed here, but also thru PIH, Brandon:http://www.ebay.com/clt/collectibles-live-events/day-1-morris-everett-jr-the-auction-part-i-567141
All of the first few have gone for higher than the maximum estimate. Cool Undine cards, from the first known mermaid film. http://www.invaluable.com/catalog/viewLot.cfm?lotRef=4E64CEBBFA
the Metropolis card.. $40K!!
+ 28% BP = $51,200.
