Since Feb 2009, I've picked up 250+ movie posters (about 1/2 my collection) that emphasize female beauty. Most of these are PG/R posters - I don't have many so-called "sexploitation" posters. Now if I could just "pick up" the real 3D beauties so easily!

Yeah, we've had the modern/vintage debate on this board - there's not a strict dividing line. The 1964 Sophia Loren poster above looks very "modern" to me (and pretty risque for 1964 - was that really posted in regular theaters?) Whereas this 1963 Sophia Loren poster looks very "vintage" to me and has less appeal to me. Same thing with the Beatles IMHO. I consider their early 60s stuff "oldies" but their post-1964 recordings are modern.

The Europeans have always been more mature about sexuality. We could use more of that attitude in the US (along with less religiosity and fewer guns but those are issues for other forums....)

Picked up this original obscure Gladiatress poster from tloce (another infamous seller with a bad rep - deserved or not - but that's another story).

I love the tagline: "Does my gluteus maximus look big in this?"

Now who can say I don't have a good low-brow sense of humor?

WOW Mel, I may just start picking a few of those up myself. I do collect sexploitation and soft porn as it is a dead genre in this country. I'll try and dig some out and post them.

Hey Mel, you know what would fit REALLY well in your collection (one of many I am sure) is a Polish Star 80. I have meant to grab it a few times but it always slips by for some reason.

I do like that Polish Star 80 and I'm not normally a huge fan of Polish posters.

I'm not really collecting sexploitation/soft-porn posters, Paul, just posters that feature female beauty. This "Ridicule" poster is really my ideal "find":

Nevermind... I just found it at Christie's. It's an Austrian 3-sheet and it sold in 2005 for $33k... there is hope yet!

ahhh, I found it in one of my movie poster books and figured it belonged in this thread. I had no idea that it carried that kind of price tag. But, with that image and Marlene Dietrich, it is not surprising.
