What did I just snipe?? Raiders experts please.

I admit, I was not paying too much attention when I placed this snipe.  But, now that I won it, I actually looked at it (bass ackwards I know).  It seems to be missing the 810100 that is usually above the "RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK" in the bottom right corner. Zig-zag??  random reprint???  intl one sheet?

Not a movie poster seller.  They mostly sell books and pinups. 

The lack of the 810100 with the "RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK" title is odd.......doesnt match up to anything I know.  It lacks a ratings box as well.

Chris: that international one pictured has some kind of extra logo below and to the right of the Paramount logo on the right side of the poster.  Otherwise, it looks the same.

Matt: the restrike is definitely off I think.  It has a ratings box, and NSS number above the title, and licensing info at the bottom middle (at least I think its licensing info).

Yup thats definitely it, I thought I looked at Bruce's stuff.  Obviously, as evidenced by the fact that I put in a snipe bid on a poster that I didnt fully inspect first and then couldnt find that on emovieposter.com, I have other things on my mind lately.

Interesting.......I wonder why.  I would almost always rather have an international one sheet than a US one.  In most cases, the art is better on internationals.  Also, I would think that there would be less international posters printed.  That may be a misconception though......can anyone with better knowledge weigh in?

Well, I am not an expert, but rarity is certainly not a main indicator of value.

As almost everyone knows by know, I collect Aussie daybills - they are generally far rarer than any US paper and yet US paper is almost exclusively more expensive or "valuable".

In this case, it's about demand without any regard for supply.

I would think there are less English-language international one sheets than American one sheets on most (if not all) American titles.  Whether that affects the price much -- especially if the art is identical -- I don't know.  I just bought a few myself, one of which just arrived...

This an Australian one sheet (see NRC) by Bob Peak and -- as far as I know -- not available as an American one sheet...
