Couple Uncovers Coins Worth $10M While Walking Dog
« on: February 26, 2014, 12:34:06 AM »
First there's stashes of posters found in walls and attics and now this! Why can't I get this lucky?

"$10 million in rare, mint-condition gold coins buried in the shadow of an old tree" eventually going up for sale on Amazon.

Congrats, I guess.

I find something very unusual about their find.. They are rare coin dealers and they find coins buried.

brings to light all sorts of Perry Mason stories about actual source of coins and what people say/do to the things Perry Mason reveals later on.

I'll be curious to read further stories down the road about this "find"

Oddly enough, I thought the same thing about the finders upon the first read, but then reread and convinced myself that it was the writing that seems confusing. So did I miss something and they really are rare coin dealers, or is it the writing?

I will agree that looking down every once in a while has it's benefits. Walking my dogs last summer near a field, I noticed a $1 bill in the grass. When I went to pick it up I also noticed a $5 and $10. Then I found two $100 bills. After bringing the dogs back I returned to the spot and ended up finding a total of $423. My wife ended up getting an iPad2.

I went back & read it again & realized I confused 2 identities so it's not exactly the Perry Mason I thought it might be, it still might a Perry Mason of another kind.. who knows

The coins must have originated in a distant robbery.  Government likely to step in and try to confiscate at any moment...smart move saying they found them on their own property, whether that's the truth or not

Ok, Chris. If you wouldn't mind, could you please PM me this week's lottery numbers? :)

Wow, you called this one:

"The coins may have been stolen from the US Mint in 1900 and thus be the property of the government"

Unless... wait a minute! You didn't steal some coins back in 1900, did you?!?!! It's ok, you can admit it. No one reads the posts down here.

My Delorean is with the valet ;)

Seriously though...the finders did this all wrong.  Should have kept their gloating mouths firmly shut
