Advantages of lamination:
1) I have seen ones that were laminated 30 years ago and they look exactly the same and they are indestructible and need no care or even framing.
2) You can hang them in the bathroom with no fear
3) They make the COOLEST placemats!

Laminated LC or HS (they might be a little large, tho) could make awesome place mats.

I have a pile of deluxe lobby cards for the 1950 Treasure Island with Robert beatty
a really good film.

yeah I have easily 50 cards maybe 100... all laminated in hard plastic and I've considered using them exactly for placemats because they are perfect in every way and easily washable!

I've honestly wondered about lamination.  You can still see the poster as it is intended, it cannot be torn without a lot of effort, it's encapsulated in a sealed, presumably consistent state environment...what's not too love about it? ;)

Not that I would do it as I am a poster puritan

Well if you're going to hang it in an environment that's high risk for humidity damage.. then you're probably better off laminating it than not protecting it at all right?  Plus, they do make the coolest placemats ;)!

Looks like anything exceeding 65% RH is considered high.
