Restorers to Avoid - Case Open

I am building evidence to avoid a major restorer based on poor conservation principals and perhaps deceptive practices... I don't want to outright slam them so I would seriously like some input on what you guys would consider a deceptive practice.  Seriously don't just roll your eyes and say 'here we go again'... I've been working my ass off to figure this all out to now learn that one of the most prominent restorers seem to be an amateur when it comes to museum quality practices in both conservation and restoration.

So a bit of Q & A:

Should image restoration mediums always be reversible with water? Should you know when irreversible mediums are be employed?

Should adhesives for backing be accomplished using only lab grade vegetable adhesives such as wheat, rice, and cellulose?

Should fixative be applied in any form?

Time to educate the masses what you are getting for your money!

Thanks in advance...
