 At first I thought the film was just OK. But every time it is on TV, I seem to watch more and more of it.  I am not sure if that style of filming has a classification, but it really does seem to have a more "graphic novel" feel. And the Mickey Rourke character was absolutely amazing.

Is it considered a "modern classic" ?

I think so.  It's one of my all-time favorites.  Some say the classification for it is "neo-noir", but I think "graphic novel" also describes it well.

No. It's still too much of a cult film for that consideration.

Pretty much everyone I know has seen it which pretty much mainstreams it.

Think they waited too long on this one, should have gotten right back to it after the first one hit theaters.
