You should contact Christie's and Sotheby's. And also ask them if they would even take it for auction.

If they would, they would surely give you an estimate.

High hundreds, low thousands depending on day and venue.

I just picked up a German lobby card.  Freaky.

Good for you, Mac!

Any idea why the auction was deleted? Or was it just gone one day?

If it was listed in euros I'm guessing the seller was in Europe -- and there are some pretty strict laws against selling those types of items.

This was listed on Ebay Germany , and someone must of reported it because the auction was pulled after just one day.... Ive been bidding on Anti Semitic postcards and books for the past year, so once I find an item I save the sellers name just in case the item gets pulled, and sure enough it was pulled.. I was the high bidder at the time , and the seller said 35 euros, so I was happy as hell to oblige.... The Poster was framed in a junk frame since the 40s as the condition is flat out amazing!!!!

Regardless of it's original intent, good for you, Mac, for snagging it as a poster collector, and preserving a part of film history. Yes, it was an ugly and deplorable time, but the poster itself, is striking and the artwork very fine.

It is certainly worthy of being saved, for the historical aspect alone.

Congrats, again, Mac!

 clap

Maybe I missed an earlier post of yours but what is your interest in anti-semitic posters?  The history, the art, the remembrance, the religious significance, something else?

I ask purely out of curiosity with no malicious intent as have not come across too many collecting a similar genre

I am Jewish , and collect just for the History aspect..There are a handful collectors outthere who collect this topic , and most of them are Jewish as well ...  My collection will be donated to the Holocaust museum before I kick the bucket, at age 34 I have a long way to go . I've been collecting the past 14 months , and have amassed quite a collection.   The Movie Der Ewige Jude is what jumpstarted this hobby .

That is very cool of you to donate that to the holocaust museum before you kick the bucket. Very generous and thoughtful of you.

Poster collecting is a great hobby. I know I have made several friends since I started collecting. The pieces you have collected do show an important part to the worlds history and donating your collection I think is wonderful.

These kinds of posters, like anything from that era, are important to gather and preserve, so that the world can be always be reminded and never forget.

And that you will be eventually donating them is a brilliant move, too, Mac!

Good on you, hands down!!  clap clap clap

Very cool, and I comend you on collecting that subject.  As Santayana said, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."  Although it is something we would love to forget, it is more important that we all remember.
Schan
Thanks.  You know what you did.

Sadly seems many people DO forget, or ignore, or I don't know.
even here in Australia I hear Antisemitism from all sorts.
I dont mean from people who side themselves with racist groups, but "average joes" who would deny being bigoted.
