I've never seen one of these. Curious to see what it will sell for.

I believe both of those can be very difficult to find in any condition!

 :-*

But in all seriousness, I might bite on the Style C. Can spend too much, since the HA auction next month has three posters I really, really, really, really want.

Great stuff as usual but Ebay is running its monthly FREE AUCTION LISTINGS right now so it is flooded with auctions.  It doesn't make any sense to me because all the sellers put their posters into the auctions but list them starting at high "BUY IT NOW" prices.

How about giving this update on all your items, once each day? That way we will all gain valuable "inside" information.

It is a lot of cutting and pasting. I can't just do one big copy and paste, I would have to do it for each one.

Maybe I'll do it again towards the end.

And, we added 20 more listings tonight (Sunday) of some cool lobby cards.

Did all those printers proofs come from the same consignor? They all look similarly beat to hell, so I assume yes. What happened? Did they have a rat infestation or something?

I am about as interested in knowing the 'watchers' count as an Aston Martin salesman is counting the tyre kickers in their car yard.

A very nice looking card. With the couple threads discussing grading and how one would assign a specific grade, I wonder how others might grade this card. CM describes this as "Excellent-Near Mint (C8-C9). When I looked at the supersize image, I immediately saw what appear to be 8-9 vertical, white scratches down Bogart's coat. With these kinds of marks, would others also describe this as "Excellent-Near Mint?"

A very minor defect that is clearly shown in our extra large detailed photo. The description is also crystal clear.

CONDITION/GRADE: C8-C9

EXCELLENT-NEAR MINT

This card has a few extremely minor imperfections. Not in perfect shape but still very presentable.

Some very minor storage wear.

Personally, I think I would have graded the card good to very good, but I agree that Dave's super-sized image shows the defects well. That is why I personally think the C scale is pretty worthless for bidders, because most cards get graded at the top end, which is good for sellers, but not for buyers.

But Dave is light years ahead of many of his competitors, many of whom have fuzzy photos and trouble finding obvious defects.

Why not just say:

There appear to be 8-9 very noticeable vertical, white scratches down Bogart's coat as well as other very minor surface abbrasions from storage wear. Perhaps when it was pulled out or returned within a stack of cards. The card also was hung, having tack holes in the top two corners.  And since we are speaking of corners, please note that every corner has rounded over time, which is typical for a 65 year old lobby card.  After thorough review we have concluded that the card would receive a grade of excellent to near-mint.  Yes even though this card has flaws, it still receives a very high grade based on our grading system found here.

At Cinemasterpieces, we try our best to catch all flaws and detail them for you in writing, but feel free to take a look at our supersized photos as a reference and to perhaps catch any flaws we may have missed.  It is a rare event that we miss a key flaw in our posters, so if you do see anything that we missed please e-mail me right away at XX@XX

That advice was clearly not part of the marketing course from which the CMP business model was built...

Why? Because when you are listing hundreds of items for sale it just isn't practical to go into extreme detail like that on every item. Not even the almighty emovieposter, or Heritage, or movieposterbid goes into intense detail like that on most of their items.

A large detailed photo generally speaks for itself.

However, if you ever want a job here in our P.D.D.D. (Poster Defect Describer Department), please submit your resume. :-*

almighty emovieposter

A slight exaggeration!

I suspect that came to your mind because of the movie "Bruce Almighty".
