Absolutely love that poster, Stew.
It is by Tom Hodge, a very talented artist from the UK.
Here's a thread I started about Hodge and his work a week back.
Check it out...

That poster is excellent. sm1   They even got the notation right for all the MC Grammars, (shotgun shells - many call them shotgun bullets).  I'll have to check out the article later.

My favorite part was...

*SPOILER*

Strombo getting a skate to the chest. I love Strombo.

Also...
"When life gives you razor blades, you make a baseball bat covered in razor blades!"

Also again, the theater I went to see this at didn't want to let me in because I didn't have ID. WTF since when do you need ID to see a movie when you're in your 20s? It was some ....insert inappropriate word describing female here... at the ticket counter that always asked for ID no matter the person's age. Always one in a crowd eh?

If you like grindhouse films, this movie rocks and if you don't, stay far, far, away.

I suppose people would have there own interpretations of the term, but as far as Hobo With A Shotgun,I think its termed Grindhouse because it was one of the spoof trailers in the Planet Terror/Deathproof double bill..

Love that poster! Didn't like the movie so much though.

Ari, that's a good question re the meaning of 'Grindhouse' these days. I guess technically it should refer to any B-grade, low-budget, porno or exploitational movie shown in low-rent US theatres in the 70's. A decent enough definition is on wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grindhouse

But with the revival of the genre, I personally think its useful to include more recent efforts that have the same spirit. The wikipedia entry has a good definition... "Grindhouse films characteristically contain large amounts of sex, violence or bizarre subject matter."

... and I guess that's as good a definition as any?
