It always amazes me what people pass on.  This is one great poster.  One of the best 60s poster, IMO.  True, it needs major work, but as Bruce's people said, it would look as good as new once restored.  People spend $100s on shit, but let this one go for $125...  Baffling.  I should have bid on it.

Case in point...  Really?  Really?  For a folded poster when rolled ones are all over?

Two reasons

1. Maybe because you might be able to pick up a VG-F for around $500-$600 and there's probably $400-$500 in restoration in that one that sold for $125?
2. You used IMO

That much?  Really?

That'd be my educated ball park guess, based on restores I have had done in recent times.

Okay, well, that makes sense, then.  I rarely linenback anything, probably 10 times in my life...  I didn't see restoration go above $200.

Or just display and enjoy it as it is.  I strongly feel that a poster needs to proudly show its wear marks, if only to prove that this is legitimate advertising paper.

I feel that poster is very displayable as is.  At most, I might try to clean up some of the brown staining, if it didn't involve paint.

^agreed, I think it looks good as it, some tape on back on fold separation and tear, and bingo.
Bit curious as to the high guesstimate also.
I have had very little done, but I remember my beast with a million eyes was a darn site cheaper, under $200 from memory and that needed paper replacement and some recreation of the title etc.
Granted that was a while back.

Ouch!

In my amateur opinion it's just water stains or 'tidemarks' (ironic) with maybe some mold and can be soaked in a calcium hydroxide (an alkaline solution) to eliminate the stains... Then you could bleach to reduce the mold stains... So this one is an easy fix most likely...  Of course you never know until you get into it...

Bat signal went out.

Bruce's description is spot on. Most paper if not all, is there. Poster is actually in pretty good shape.

I don't think there is any major restoration involved. mostly just wash wash wash. That should remove most stains dirt.

If not, possible a light air brush in the affected areas. That would be an easy mask off.

I can't see this one costing more than 300.00 to fix up. Mind you, not sure what the back looks like?

Best,
dario.

Alright, so David might actually be right, since we all know that...

Dario does amazing work for 1/2 what other restorers charge.

Nah, it is half my defense mechanism as this damn restoration stuff seems so clear from this end but seems to be so swayed by opinion.  And when you have worked and studied your eyes red, it is just frustrating  because no one really understands what you are doing. And there is still that little guy in your own head asking 'are you sure you know what you are doing?'  I had to really fight to get this far, noo one really holding my hand.  l would hate the pressure of doing it for real.

Plus Dario is the man... it is understandable.

My wife will be sooooooo happy about this one.  She bought it for me 10 years ago when we first met.  I think she spent $400 for it, a big deal at the time.  I eventually told her it wasn't worth $40 (yes, I do it to my wife too ;)).  She got so upset that she never bought me another poster again.

She'll be glad it sold for more than my $40.
