Steve, the divide between what modern posters will sell for and what classic posters will sell for (though not top top titles) is only going to get larger.. Older collectors are leaving.. newer collectors are younger.. generational aspects of nostalgia will guide the market

I guess your right, to me i love the old scifi and monster titles paper the most, like Taruntula and the black scorpian, to me i guess those should bring more, but in todays world, your right..

and Bruce, i love emovieposter and have found some of my gems on that site, and well just bid on a few more, so guess i am loyal or just dumb..

You should continue to bid! Where else can you steal posters right under the eyes of dealers and collectors who would gladly pay far more for the same poster, if ONLY we didn't have such "restrictive credit terms" (i.e. require buyers to pay for their purchases)?

And frankly Bruce those terms are starting to really p*ss me off - the sooner you let me buy posters without paying then that will be the day I start buying more posters from you.

Then try those other guys. You get months to pay, and if the value has risen, you can claim it, and if it hasn't, you can walk away and they re-auction it (which explains why so many posters come back over and over and over and over and over and over and over)

i believe we get two weeks to pay, been  a while since i had to use that advantage though with all that horror i am bidding and planning, it may take a week, to pay it, lol   and one thing i have learned in poster collecting is this, ones trash is anothers treasure, i looked high and low for a blood diner and even bid up to 75.00(got outbid) for one before, got it from ya for like 7 bucks.. sorry to go OT..

I agree. I love the whole 'bidding' part, but Bruce really needs to work on the part where he requires people to pay for items. Where's the fun in that?

Was anyone watching the bidding at emovie tonight?  A lot of bidding right at the closing, and a lot of cool gear there tonight.

I'm stoked that I picked up a few.

Death Wish.  A Charles Bronson classic.

My first B0 - Godzilla (1998)

Cruising (1980)

The Sender (1982)  Looks like a pretty cool movie.

Bidding really took off on the Machine Gun Kelly (1958) at the last few minutes.  Pretty darn cool movie with Charles Bronson in his younger years.

Nice posters, Neo.
I was gonna bid on GODZILLA, but I got sent outta state and missed the action.
THE SENDER is a cool little thriller if you haven't seen it.
MACHINE GUN KELLY and DEATH WISH are both great Bronson pieces.
 cheers

Did anyone hear what happened with the $2m collection being sold by tender in Australia?
The communication dropped off from the auction house.

Dropped off from which auction house?

And if it is up for tender then auction houses won't be involved?

Josef has been on holidays & I think back next week. I might poke my head in tomorrow. Apparently only a dozen posters from that collection are in his store for walk in visitors as the rest are offsite and particular ones can be brought in to view by appointment.

Well I mean the seller, or whatever you want to call him.
I had understood I would receive a reserve valuation figure but never did. The prices, with the possible exception of one lot, are out of my reach based on the prices they were asking on the website, but i was considering an offer on the third lot (and would have loved the lobby cards too)

Ahhh, those posters.

Yeah, should be interesting - gotta ask yourself, if you had the money, are those all the posters you would buy?

I know there are some in the collection that I would love to have, others...mehh

I'll bring the getaway car - we should be good for about 10 posters before we have to come back for a second trip  :P

Forbidden Planet one sheet, yes....what are the others again? Ohh that's right, I missed the comprehensive list that was out there. It was available right?

They advertised a big storm in a tea cup, quite well enough to advertise the Auction House and that's about it. (Shakes head)
