PF Lucky Strikes finished below expectations, perhaps b/c sold during the Olympics and on a Sunday.  I still think this would have gone higher in the major/mini auction in the fall:

I would say yes... I totally forgot about the auctions because of the olympics...

or maybe $925 (that is still far more than I would bid) might be what that poster is worth. Crazy idea I know.

I got this poster through a trade, which is great because I would have never spent more than $200 on it, and that's pushing.  $925 is totally absurd to me.

I would go $200 easy. Maybe $250 even.

Of course two years ago before I had a freaking clue Id go maybe $450.

Charlie, it may be that the copy Bruce sold, got just what it should have, considering it was not a nm copy. it had damage along the uppper left. I sold a stone mint copy not too long ago, and I did much better than Bruce did and then that dealer made more..

I really want one of those, but I won't be buying something that pricey for quite some time.

It's absurd because you're an out-of-touch pedantic fool.

Wow, and here I was feeling bad when we "only" got $961 for this poster not long ago. The price is only $36 more, but thanks to his outrageous 22% seller's premium for a quality item like this vs. our 10%, his consignor will net only $721, while ours will pocket $864 - nearly 20% better.

Not sure if we can do that on more mainstream items as obviously Bruce still has 10x our number of registered users. We've got a Raiders one-sheet this week as does he, so there will be at least one more opportunity to compare: http://movieposterexchange.com/buy.php?list=weekly&toshow=25&order_by=auction_bid_price&order_type=DESC

We have sold a few for north of 2k. One of them was in our Fixed Price On Site Consignment program and our client received over $1500.00.

Not surprised. We actually had a dealer offer us $1200 for the one we had at auction if we would close the auction early.

And of course if someone would like to test one out for a fixed price of $2K on MoviePosterExchange.com you will still net $1800 on the sale, so please feel free to list.

If I had one, I would gladly sell it for $2000 (or $1800).

A Pulp Fiction LS wouldn't be a true pimp collector's best stuff...

I personally think that PF Lucky Strikes is way over priced considering the image for the final is so similar and a hell of a lot cheaper. Never did understand the prices that one reaches.

Rarity/scarcity. As with most (all?) collectibles, the market value doesn't always equate to the visual appeal/difference in the item versus others. Just look at coins, where a tiny minting flaw can make one specimen worth 100x the price of a 'perfect' version.

Wrong but take consolation that you could be more wrong....

Ted to make the official call, but looks like we're done and dusted. Not only has the Aussie paper won out, but the Aussie collectors have shown themselves to be more passionate and dedicated.

To be fair Mel, one of those posters is showing an image of Godzilla and the other is showing an image of Raymond Burr.  ;)

And I just figured that a True Pimp Collector would be enough of a BSD that Pulp would be way down on his list of stuff he owns (like Rich).

I don't even want a PULP FICTION poster.
The movie was cool, but Uma just doesn't wind my watch.

Now, if it was Kate...whole 'nother story... wynk

I would happpily trade my stone mint copy for a Raymond Chandler item I need.
PF is way down on my list

No point consigning it to us. There are bunches of guys who have standing offers for far over what we sold it for.

Steve, the divide between what modern posters will sell for and what classic posters will sell for (though not top top titles) is only going to get larger.. Older collectors are leaving.. newer collectors are younger.. generational aspects of nostalgia will guide the market
