A nice, linen backed Belgian poster, for AFFAIR IN TRINIDAD, closed today, for $119.50.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=350563365942&nma=true&rt=nc&si=B7FCY432OHvSPkvJXZGlB8sDEDo%253D&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

It's a great price and although I love the US version, personally I find this image of a man striking a woman particularly disturbing.

The 2 women in the background are rather interesting, too. It's as if they are both waiting, with rather emotionless looks on their faces and each with cigarette in hand, for their turn to receive a little Payne.   :P

At least Payne is only giving her a slap. Some bad, back talking women are choked by their own mommies.  laugh1

People like to focus on the high prices we achieve, but there are also some great deals (and real steals) as well. We get lots of emails saying "If I had only known X poster would go for that I would have bid".

Join the 7,300+ other active registered users who make certain to check out our auctions three times a week (or create some want lists, so you will be notified when we auction items of interest to you).

I doubt we will get either item again, but especially that "They Call Her One Eye".

This may change my thoughts on Noir films, I've never seen the film, so I will be seeking it out; And some of his others, Thanks for the tip off Chris...

Bruce, are you saying one can give you a list of posters they are after, and if you get them to auction off, I'll get an email to saying so...?

If this is right, I'll have to get you a list sent over.

They actually have a 'want list' function on the site.
Just log in and you'll find it.

Thanks Ted,     I'll be getting on that as soon as, I already missed one a few months back I needed, and would have broken my "don't buy posters from the U.S. ban" for. ;)

Agreed.  A few of the B1s went for a lot (for newer stuff) but there were a lot that went at very low prices.

The Matrix Reloaded B1s went pretty low, for a big set of B1s, but that may be more due to The Matrix Reloaded stuff being not as sought after as the original The Matrix.

The Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets set went pretty high, IMO.  I wonder if it was because people like the movie or because it was an "investment."  Maybe Holiday or Marklawd can chime in.

Holiday is always going to be the initial winner of Japanese B1 posters he wants for his collection so I had to bow out when the bidding reached my limit. Hopefully, I will be successful if another set becomes available. I like to get hold of rarer Harry Potter posters when I come across them as I consider these will prove to be be good "investments" in a decade or two.

Harry Potter is probably a good film series to invest in, considering the strong following they have.  A set of B1s for almost any movie is probably pretty darn rare.  All things considered, what they sold for may actually be a fairly low price.

Hi bruce
yeah i am a member and have checked the auctions religiously 3 times a week since i joined about 18 months ago.
but for some reason because the sunday auction is skipping a week i somehow thought it all was???? i dont why i just did? DOH!
the only reason i looked at all is someone sent me a PM on here about something else.
in fairness i guess i could just about have put a bid in for one or the other at the prices they went for, but not if the other person wanted a battle. i could have streched to $70 JUST about.
maybe i should have? but no good crying about torn papers now is it.
my loss and someone elses gain.
I don't know much, but i do know what my eyes are telling me!
