I don't like auctions, and never see posters I like at good prices.

This auction ended last night. IMO, this is one of the most stunning images of Bette Davis, in what I consider one her finest performances, in the film,THE LITTLE FOXES (1941). This looks to be for the first French release in 1947. It is the moyenne size and the winning bid was $1025.00.

What a work of art!  clap clap

You UK peoples have got some 'splaining to do!   The Christies prices from yesterday are just wacky A-Z.

Linen-backed 2001 "Starchild" 1970 (not 1968) re-release(!!!!!).  As discussed on MOPO, Christie's did announce this was the later re-release but it still went for $2,600.  I paid $100 for a ROLLED copy of this exact poster a few months ago:

There was a young female underbidder around 20 years old who bid many thousands on that To Catch A Thief six-sheet - which looked amazing by the way. And that Dr No quad looked as if it had been screwed up into a ball and then flattened.

Does that add to its value?

Someone send Christie's a Norbit poster and see if it sells for a grand.

This is a nice poster that I missed - http://www.ebay.com/itm/190670526788?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I meant to throw in a largish bid near the auction close, but spent the day in a place with no mobile phone reception (hospital!), so missed it. I'm not entirely sure what it is though...UK bus stop poster going by the sellers other items and the 15 rating next to the title?

Are UK bus stops the same size as US 40x60s? Is that a pretty standard size, regardless of the country it is used (or issued) in?

Well here we go again,  U.K. bus stop posters are in metric and are 1200mmX 1800mm Which is close to a 6sht,

60X40 is a  U.K. 4sht size so that would have been a 4sht...

All right, you fools. You've brought it on yourselves! Everything would have come right if you'd only left me alone. You've driven me near madness with your peering through the keyholes and gaping through the curtains. And now you'll suffer for it! You're crazy to know who I am, aren't you? All right! I'll show you! Here's one for you, and one for you. I'll show you who I am and what I am.

Sorry... only just found this thread. I'm so poor, I can't even afford to pay attention. Nope not me I'm afraid. I actually wanted to bid on the Clockwork Orange quad. That's how poles apart I am from that poster.
