Or Armin could have had two great sales and no longer have the posters had he consigned them to us!

It all depends on how you look at it.

People assume that if they win something at auction that -- what ever it goes for -- it is a 'fair market' price.  While generally that assumption *should* be true, I think Bruce has attracted enough frenzied buyers at this point that rational concepts like 'fair market pricing' quickly go out the window!

And as someone who just sent a bunch of posters off for consignment... I say way to go Bruce  sm1

Don't get me wrong. I am glad for every poster that Bruce and the other auction houses sell, and if they get high prices then good for them. It helps me understand what the current market prices for many titles are.

Put your prices in line with those Bruce sold Armin, the under bidders may see them.... ;)

Doesn't that really depend on who the buyers are, and what they are willing to spend at the time of the auction?

I've looked at emovieposter.com's auction history for many titles lately (Thank you Bruce) and I've seen the same titles go for very cheap at one auction, and a lot at another without much time in-between. It goes to show that they are only worth as much as someone is willing to pay, and prices will always fluctuate. I now feel there is no solid current market prices, just a bare minimum that is most likely always far less than you would want to sell it for.

I bet they didn't flatten it completely before they measured...

That's a good possibility.

Quite amazing results. Literally every poster the one person purchased was purchased at a record price (especially if condition is taken into consideration), except for the King Kong vs. Godzilla which is not only the rarest of the bunch, but probably sold at a slight discount to usual retail. For example the Monster Zero poster: Heritage twice tried to auction that same copy before it finally sold last year for $101, and looking at Bruce's own recent results the Smog Monster poster probably sold at the largest multiple of it's usual selling price.  Thank goodness I have copies of all of these, or the prices could have been even crazier.

Nice job Bruce bidders.

Can't wait to see what other goodies Bruce has from this Japanese poster collection. I'm keeping my fingers crossed he might finally have some lobby cards I need - you might really see some fireworks then.

If you look at the sellers feedback you can actually see what he paid for a few of those he recently auctioned.  Pretty crazy how much things have gone up

Since it is a "private listing" how can you know any of those bids were real?

How do we know any of those people in your sig are real. They all look photoshopped. The guy top left who is showing the least of his t-shirt, really needs to get his act together ;)

Actually that is interesting, the private listing, I wonder why the seller enables that... to cover shilling...?

This is why I will never bid a reasonable amount on a seller with a private listing!!  I always bid a lot lower than I normally would, no matter how much I want the poster. Yes I maybe a tight Yorkshireman, but we hate to be ripped off... ;)
