Sure he was overweight and unwell for the last year and a bit but people base their thoughts on those idiot fat impersonators and the very worst photos from his very worst show. Here are some photos from a few different live performances in 1977, just months before he died. He's probably not that far removed from the average 42-year-old at the time.

Surely one of the UK people here got this trimmed Underwater quad - couldn't afford it right now and it needs $300 work for linen-backing/paper replacement so I dropped out early:
