But there were still 92 items that sold for under $50, and many of those were under the cost of linenbacking alone.

True, but if I linenback a piece of toilet paper, I don't suddenly get a $100 piece of toilet paper.  It just labels me a fool.  A lot of that lower cost stuff was very marginal.  Magazine ads, tacky popular posters, etc.

I looked and prices were going insane.  It was a good time to lay low and save for next week, after everyone has burned themselves out by overspending at the "major" auction.

Very well said.

So I've managed to get 2 2-foglis and a 4 fogli all within a weeks time.  Else I hadn't seen an Italian Amadeus come up since May.  Man how random is the supply?  It's also amazing that you often win stuff when you don't need to win it anymore.  If I hadn't gotten the linen backed one I am sure I would have had to bid like $60 to get this one. I put in the minimum bid before Bruce's auction; figured I wouldn't get it for $19.99 so might as well get the really nice one that is backed (silly Aggie logic).  Go Figure! hitself

A tale of two cities on Ebay for Pulp Fiction Lucky Strikes.  The trusted seller (kymarfye) gets $1600.  The unknown seller gets $700, although the poster looks legit.

I bought my copy directly from Colin (kymar) years ago for $450.  It was the most expensive poster I had ever bought at the time.  Who would have known how that would seem laughable all this time later.
Best regards,

Holiday

Anybody in here get this? The last few only went for $40, so I thought $43 would have won it.  It's funny how often I'd give another $5 or $10 to have a poster... (But I am on hiatus; right Brian! - man this is so hard)  But I did manage to only buy 5 posters over the past 9 days; but that's not counting the ones I bid on and lost...  hitself

The hiatus thing has gotten easier since I got blown out on the Bday poster.  My snipe was off by 600. It was kind of demoralizing.  I was kind of like screw this hobby for about a day.  On the upside, about 15 frames arrived this week.   ;D

I've come around on those Lost In Translation B1s.  I think the Japanese version is the best version given the plot of the movie:

I thought it would be you Mel!  Looks like Walterfilm sold his only copy... its not listed on his site anymore.  So that means only 3 of these have surfaced at auction/dealers since 1998 (that I know at least)?

I would bet somebody reading this board saw our recent discussion of it and cut a deal with him. It sat there for a year at $750.

Pretty much all the Big Lebowski formats are righteous IMO.  I'm somewhat partial to the B1 but I really like the B2 with the bowling scene also.  Which one represents the film best?  I'd say they all do a good job of that.  A slightly better pic of the B1.  It was the first B1 added to my humble collection, and the only one I've seen.  One of only 2 of my B1s that have this Asmik Ace logo.

So who do we think snagged it?  I know T is too cheap!  Holiday?  Mark?  They both have impressive international 1-sheet collections. Someone else perhaps?

Love the Japanese paper Neo... that B1 is awesome!  Was there a B0 for BL?

Thanks, Dr. Caul.  I haven't seen a Lebowski B0, but that's a great question for Hideyuki, Armin, or Ed King.  I would bet that one could find a hen's tooth easier than a B0 for sale, if they (B0s) exist.

That is a beauty Steve.  Since it is not framed how is it displayed?  I would have said "hung" but the Blazing Saddles references would never end...

I currently have 2 more 6 sheets getting linen backed, so hope to show them to you soon, I dont think I have shown them in the forum before.

Top Gun international OS. At first I kinda hated it. Now I kinda like it.  Regardless, it went for $130 tonight:
