Check eMovies archives... there are both DOM and FOR stamped poster (back stamp so not visible).  The DOM posters have an 'M' rating in the lower right.  As per usual, domestic posters go for more (think east v. west hemi on the early Moore Bonds).  Be sure to check the prices as well... DOMs are usually a bit over $100, FOR are typically less... if buying on eBay (especially in this economy) I probably wouldn't bid over $75 on a DOM style A.

Style B is typically more desirable as it shows the iconic and climatic scene... the quad much more so as the artwork is in color instead of monochrome.  Even style B's seem to be trending downward over the last year or so.  They used to sell for $500-$800... I've seen a few on eBay over the last year sell for around $200.

650 pounds or just over a grand.  I think there is still a BP on top of that... so maybe closer to $1200.

Still, not bad... Dave has two listed, one on linen at $8K (on consignment) and a NM folded copy at $12K.

Holy crap!  I was actually really interested in those but I only bid in the $30's before finding out I won my 7 Samurai quad.  Unfortunately that meant I  quit bidding on everything tonight.  I can't believe how much these ended up selling for!  Looks like Mark and I have very similar tastes...

They are very cool and a must for a Kubrick fan... definitely the best paper I've seen for this underrated film.

A) Kubrick
B) His final film

Yeah, Mark likes the rare ones and those qualify - I have never seen them before, but it says even more when bruce says he hasn't seen them either.
Best regards,

I had dropped early "reminder bids" and planned to hit $100 a each, but obviously those were quickly blown out of the water before even attempting new bids.

personally I dont LIKE the posters, only because I dont really like Nicole or tom, I DO love the film and think they were perfectly cast, but id never hang either of their mugs on my wall.
but compared to the rest, good posters.

These all say "FINAL ONE SHEET" in the left corner - which is unusual - so I'm wondering if they are prototypes or the "international" advance posters that were actually used?

Actually, only the poster with both 'masks' says "FINAL ONE SHEET".  The other two posters both say "TEASER ONE SHEET". This looks like it could be a whole campaign that was scrapped or something.  What ever they are, they seem exceedingly rare.

If you know more about them Mark we would love to hear it!

From Taschens wonderful "The Stanley Kubrick Archives", in reference to the 2 mask portrait poster:

"EWS30 - This proposal for the films poster, designed by Katherine Kubrick Hobbs and Christiane Kubrick, was rejected in favour of the design  more clearly showing the films stars"

Scrapped campaign. Very nice posters IMO, and a mistake not to be the main campaign posters, which are entirely dull across the board.

I agree.  They are quite striking and eerie.

Great research!

Mark has some supremely rare prototypes. These should be added to the unicorns section.

So am I to understand that these posters are one-of-a-kind items or that a few copies were produced?

I imagine a handful must have been printed, but they are definitely rare and fully deserve unicorn status.

I so covet that Taschen Kubrick book.... drool....

Harry, the book is magnificent. If you love Kubrick, hunt down a 1st edition copy, this comes with a 70mm film strip from one of Kubricks own 2001 print reels.

It's a monster of a book, that does justice to the Director Genius.
