Bruce's title cards got some very nice numbers today.  I won a few, but had to watch the budget, and a couple I had to let go :(

How are any of these more "middle of the road" posters garnering that kind of coin? I dont get it... Not in the least.  dontknow.gif

I think it's because we're out of the recession. People have money to burn. Unfortunately, they're also driving up the prices on the stuff I want, too.

Amazing.  I usually can't bid on Heritage stuff because I'm out and about, but today the Packers/Cowboys game kept me inside.  I've been attempting to bid and got overbid on 7 items already (won 2).  People spend a lot of money on very random stuff, which is good for the hobby, I guess.

T

they sold 448 items today for $43k, 14 items did not sell, so they got an average of $100 per listing

$100 per listing average is an incredible number for any weekly auction and they only had 5 items over $400 up to $991

That does surprise me. I'd have thought it was a $10 poster!

$25 on the outside

I like the art work, but I think the colors bumped up, would bump up the price too

Its because a good number of their clients are not poster collectors, they are "collectible" collectors who happen to be bored and on the computer.  If HA had a Sunday night collectible harmonica auction, the guy who bought Trouble with Angels would have instead bought a harmonica last night.

Brilliant, this did make be laugh. You are right about collectors of collectibles though.

Yes, very funny. This reminds me of the ebay seller who persuaded me to accept a Victorian policeman's truncheon (he had a small collection) in lieu of a film poster which I wanted to return because of condition issues.

Do you have a photo?

That sounds great, actually. I think I am going to liquidate my poster collection and go all in on Victorian police truncheons.

I actually have one of those in my car Mark. It's circa 1910s-20s

Wow, Jedi 6sht.  Impressive.  I already own it but was going to go for another one.  I told Mike (Undead) I was going to bid $2.5k (when it was at $1k) just for the hell of it.  Little did I know...

A gorgeous poster, to be sure.  Here's mine.

I'm betting that matt shapiro mrs miniver is bidding on it. If he wins it will likely disappear for awhile and the reappear in his ebay store for an economy proof $100,000.00
