This one is a couple of weeks old but still thought the SW crowd would be interested. HA sold a Return of the Jedi Style B flat folded for $358 w/bp which is amazing to me personally as it is not a rare poster and is easy to find rolled.

At first the new Heritage format looked like it would annoy people...waiting lot for lot in order to bid live...well it has certainly resulted in some wild prices the last several months...people get impulsive and bid without thinking...especially if they lost several times earlier in the auction....I'm sure Heritage studied it before making the transition...heritage took a very long time to change the format...400-500 auctions ending every Sunday at the exact same time,...to the second ....you really need sniping software...now there is some fevered in the moment bidding...

I really don't like the newish sunday HA live bidding  format. It is too late in the UK. We have to stay awake if we "really" want something. And yes...prices can get a bit higher than expected :P

Yes, there is that issue.  And more so if the poster, or still, you're after is Zzzypertastic, or some such, since all the posters are sold in alphabetical order.

Still, a rough rule of thumb is that they tend to get through 90 lots in an hour so alarms can be set for early morning times if one really has to get up and stumble towards a bidding platform at 4am!

Ah Yes! The alphabetical order is a real pain in the (*****). My US poster buddy sometimes bids for me and he is really helpful ( you know who you are - thanks again  :)  - but it is clearly difficult for us abroad as it is not always possible to set the alarm for 4am or indeed, if one doesn't want to keep bothering people, even if they are super helpful. Doubt HA could care less about time difference though. They posters sell just fine.

It was up for sale in a bargain bin for $20 but not now. It didn't look that great anyway.

So 'fess up, Steve. Did you go for the LC??

 ;D

You know you want to.

Grief, a Goldfinger UK quad, l/b, just went for £2k + bp on Ewbanks.

Seems a pretty good price.

Yes, but here was the description:

Quote
James Bond Goldfinger (1964) British Quad film poster, Style A, art by Robert Brownjohn, starring Sean Connery, United Artists, linen backed, 30 x 40 inches A very honest example of this poster, creases, folds and edge tears have been left. No overspraying. A good example.

I took that to mean a rough poster that was linen-backed, but none of the flaws were very well addressed.

Yep, this fellow is top dollar all the way...

I don't think the poster sold, just the auction was ended, as that price is so far out of the ball-park it's on another planet

On another note...  I went to work with full intentions of bidding on a few lots at Eubanks, and totally got side tracked, and missed
the auction, one lot I was really after, I hope a guy I know won it as it will be on the Bay soon... ;)

0/13 last night, seems to be on par with my win percentage on Bruces auctions lately.

Thanks.  Been after that one since Peter loaned me his copy for my Eastern European exhibit (many thanks again Peter!).  I missed out on one a year or so back and I wasn't about to let this one get past me.

And that was an incredible price on that Polish ESB -- although worth every penny as one of the most creative and beautiful Star Wars posters IMO.

This lovely US OS for the silent film, A Heart To Let (1921), sold yesterday, on the bay, for $240.27. In rougher shape along with a lot of what looks like masking or paper tape on the verso, this will look wonderful once restored. Luckily, the main image of Justine Johnstone is not too badly affected.  bed1

Congrats. One of the best films ever made. The poster does it justice. That red  and black work. Perfect when a great film has a great poster.
