If you see the red on those trimmed card vs. what was sold at HA (for $4500!) it must be badly faded.  I can only imagine that all the cards should look closer to the colorful card above.

Nice!  Are you going to have them restored?  Seems like most of the art is intact.

I think so Matt, they are too important not to.  Now, just trying to find a scan of the card to match the border.  Ira Resnick has one in his book Starstruck.  Fingers crossed he will send a Hi-res scan of it!  If anyone knows him, lemme know :)
The missing art may just have to be made up, unfortunately, since I believe none of these have been seen before?

Presumably Morrie has a Blue Angel example as well (and probably Metropolis).  Might be worth reaching out to Profiles in History and/or Morrie before the collection is sold in a few days!

You'd think there is probably a pressbook in existence somewhere - whether it actually contains quality representations of the lobbies is another issue entirely

Well, I know my card was only really missing the borders, but I can highly recommend Mario for the job!  Disclaimer, the after picture is bagged -- sorry for the reflections.

The bright colored Metropolis card is Morrie's....presumable the only known copy of that particular scene

The video on this page shows and talks about this card as well as others...well worth watching

In reference to the Metropolis lobby -> "Metropolis, a silent movie from 1927 is the first movie poster that started Everett's collection"

This was sold at Bonhams for £625. I might live to regret  I didn't push a bit further for it. On the other hand....hey..you win...You lose..

The more I think about it, the more I believe the person who picked up those three Metropolis cards may have gotten the deal of a lifetime.  Restored, I believe they will go for a large amount of money......

Damn, I should have tried for both sets :/

Oh well.   girly2.gif
