Prolly re-issue.

-Vecchioni & Guadagno
-Rotolito (R65 "Doctor No" is Rotolito , Eastwood FAF$M is also Rotolito......same era)

As far as I know there was only one printing of this style and they have always been sold as first release.  Here are the only other two copies I've seen outside Italy:

Okay, this one I'm a little concerned about.

http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detail&Auction_uid1=3630347

I can't believe a place like Posteritati would bid $850 on a $50 to $100 poster.  The 1956 version is pretty rare and certainly much more expensive, but the 64' re-release version can be easily found and I know Posteritati is aware of it.  It is their job to know things like that.  So what happened?  Anyone?

Below are my 2 versions...  56 and 64.

Perhaps he has a buyer lined up already?

If you had a buyer in mind, wouldn't you try to get it for $100?

Intemporel has it for 300 euros (and you know they're making a lot of money at this price.)

-black gun/black gun edition
-red gun/black gun edition

2 different editions imo with the first prolly being rarer from what I've seen........

I guess it's possible Rotolito existed pre-'65 but with so little info out there it's hard to know.

I dunno...the bottom 17 inches are completely recreated so it's legitimately only approx 3/4 of an authentic poster.

But yes the important art is there and it does look great.

And the re-created bottom credits, compared to an original, are quite a bit off, spacing and font wise, in a number of places, too. Along with this pretty glaring typo:

For sure...

This poster has always intrigued me, for the fact that no where on it is the Universal name nor Carl Laemmle's name. Universal had a distribution arm in France in 1935 (and prior). Look at the French BRIDE OF FRANK 1Ps, for example, also from 1935, or those earlier (Frankenstein, Invisible Man) These all had the Universal and "Carl Laemmle presente" name/ tag line on them.

Yet this poster indicates that the film was distributed by a company called R.A.C. (Realisations D'Art Cinematographique).

Why would this have been? (just wondering out loud here).

And is it possible that this is not a first release poster? Again, just curious as to the possibility.   dontknow.gif
