People need to learn to appreciate folds!  They also lend a little bit of peace of mind in adding weight towards authenticity...

I hate folds.  Sorry.  I'm actually in the process of purging just about every folded poster from my collection.
Best regards,

If you only collect post 1980 posters, you should only collect them mint and rolled.  1980 to 1985 would then become your own personal challenge since a lot of posters were still sent folded pre 1985, but it's a fun challenge.  If you collect pre 1980 gear, then you don't have much of a choice, unfortunately.  Sure, some could pop up, like Jaws, but they are an anomaly.  I think Ed only collects rolled posters.  I could never do that, because there are way too many posters I want.

And I want to know how one would go about finding ONLY rolled 1980 and newer posters in, say, a French 1P size, or an Italian 2F or 4F.

Now THAT would be a challenge.  ;D

All the new French posters can be found rolled.  New meaning post 2000.  I personally prefer them folded because the paper they are printed on is not thick enough and they will very often get damaged in transit or simply by unrolling them.
