Looks like the consignor of this poster took a nice $1000 bath

as Erik reported back last December that this same number sold for $1250 on ebay.

Have to agree with eatbrie on this. It is the only one that I know of not that that means much but the condition is a real killer. I do like that it shows more of the artwork above where the six sheet cuts off more like the one sheet but that is about it. One very curious thing with it is that there is no printer or copyright info/date on the poster that I can see.

The deal though must have fallen through as it was re-listed today.

This other style SW 7 sheet*, also doesn't appear to have any printer's or copyright info on the borders or poster itself, either. Maybe that is just how this size was printed, sans that information?

The Star Wars "7 sheet" makes me laugh. The fact that it was relisted (and who knows what happened with that), the fact that he is lying about the rating being changed to 'G' (it was never and is not rated 'G'), the fact that it looks like the Dead Sea Scrolls, and just the general puffery he writes...all makes me LOLS.

A sixer is only about 10 inches different on the one dimension yet saves you tons of cash. Just a stupid price point.

Not doubting with deep pockets of SW fanatics...I'm sure it will find a home where someone has a customized R2D2 refrigerator or something.

Man this shit happens all the time on high priced eBay items.  I doubt there was ever even a real sale of any sort.  But I cannot figure out how doing this benefits the seller...

The only thing I could think is so that they can establish a false value. They may have an off ebay buyer they are talking to and they can reference that auction and say .. One sold there for $14k .. So Ill cut you a deal and sell it to you for $10k and they may bite thinking that worst case they can always get their money back. Its not like there are hundreds of these floating around and selling so that we really know what they are worth.

Extra crazy since the buyer probably owns at least 3 copies of the original one-sheet.

Guess that's the fun part about the Bruce lottery, you can win and lose shirts hundreds of times every week  ;)

But the "seller" will have to claim the "buyer" didn't pay on the "sale" (fake) or will have to pay all those eBay fees - I guess it's putting too much faith in eBay that they would even notice or care about this claim pattern  eyeroll

Ebay could care less about these things or anything else that may effect their bottom line. I can't count how many times i have complained about shill bidding and neither the bidder ID's or the seller ID's ever get banned, they just keep on doing it.

Anyway he is now down to $9,500 or best offer on it.

This one looks pretty special. This rare, (likely) one of a kind known to exist, 1914 3 sheet for the Chaplin film, Those Love Pangs, sold on Nov 27th for a Best Offer. It was listed with a BIN of $34,995.95   clap clap clap

The poster was sold from a seller in Englishtown, NJ, and last surfaced in 1997, via Christies. At that time, it had an estimated value of $10-15K.

Another beauty, sold via ebay with a Best Offer accepted. This WC for Buster Keaton's 1926 classic, The General. It was listed with a BIN of $9995.00

Per the seller's description, it looks to have been very slightly trimmed, measuring 13.5 x 21 inches.

It's always exciting to see these kinds of pieces listed via private sellers, imho, knowing they are still out there, waiting to resurface.   cheers

I know I've said it elsewhere, Artist is Alvan 'Hap' Hadley, read what that poster sold for in 1994...and I guess now I can add an update.

I've been watching this exquisite Bluebeard's 8th Wife poster all week, thinking it was very low compared to its prior sales. But it exploded at the end - rightly so, as it's a real work of art:

Naah. I was happy for them when they got good results, and they are happy for me. Would either of us rather that great posters sell for pennies?
