I'm your huckleberry (sorry Mark).

Nice one thumbup

In addition to be being one of only a handful of people with this poster, you are also now one of a handful people who have outbid Mark!

Not the first time I don't think.  We are both quite the bulldog when we really decide we want something.  We are the type of idiots that auctioneers dream about  ;)

Yeah Holiday, I wish it was not on linen.  I avoid linen unless I feel I am getting a great price and there is minimal restoration.

Seven Year Itch sold for $702.  Although EMP did disclose it was heavily-restored, I can't believe these bidders really have seen an original for comparison.

I posted a comparison to my original in the Restoration section here:

ma500969  Congratulations  Way Down East is all yours!

I was the underbidder  I tried.. I really wanted that poster... oh well... next time I suppose

As long as you tried, gave it your best shot and were comfortable knowing that you were not going to overspend, there will always be a next time, that's for sure.   ;)

Thanks for the kudos on the resto guys... What I was really proud of was saving all those bits that were glued to the front and using them as paper to do the fills.  The entire poster is of the era even the fills...  I guess I just figured it would go for more since it was the same art as the US OS...  Imagine that a "Young Frankenstein" or that crappy pulp fiction with the edges trimmed ;) went for more...

The bet should have been a framed 1SH of that nutcase in the entrance to your house, and every time someone came to the door they had to pose with you next to it!

Let me guess you have a Video OS you could lend me???  Actually this would be fine since we never have visitors...  With a 5 year old and a poster nut, the place is always out of sorts...

I am a man of my word...  I lost a bet and will go three weeks with a crying Bieber avatar...  Why crying?  Not just because the Lady of the Day Argentinian sucked wind in Bruce's auction, but also because my wife just bitch slapped me since she spent hours fixing that poster and all she gets is a good laugh and subway sandwich...  Win some, you lose some...

http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detail&Auction_uid1=2989227

But we had fun restoring it...

I guess one week -if not less- will be enough Charlie. Not really in the mood for cracking up at your expense since I won the bet, but lost with that result too...

In the end, that's the nature of auctions.

And yes, the resto work was amazing.  cheers to the Pulp fixin' crew

Congratulations Schan! I did think that (one-off?) user name belonged to a regular on here but I too thought you already had this poster and that I was bidding against someone other than you and Holiday. I did have a firm opinion on price so did not get carried away on this occasion. It is such a great companion piece for the helicopters style BO.

What have you been outbid on by Mark, or are you going to remain the international man of mystery...?

By now, it's well into the dozens of items, if not more.  There was a time on ebay that any poster that I lost went to Mark, T, or Dale almost without fail and I lost a lot because I even am an even cheaper bastard than T...

Sorry about your luck on those losses, and thanks for clearing up the other question about what you were outbid on...

You probably don't want these guys to know what the international man of mystery was bidding on...

Seriously though, what's the point of telling us you were outbid on some stuff, and not saying what you were outbid on?

To be honest, I spend most of my time outbidding myself as I wonder if my bid is high enough to win........

Looks like I should have asked more for it.  I think I overestimated the effect that the edge damage would have on its value.  Sorry, I should have thought about it before that stuff on there.  I will post everything else here first.......

Thats cool of you, I'll keep an eye on your thread. I'm sure it'll move much quicker on the dark side...that Taylor Alien has such a low run I think you'll get asking price fast on EB. That was a good price for the bride, well done.
