The same style Goldfinger Quad sold at Christies on the 23 june 2010 for £5000 + commision. So I guess that was a bargain?

A glance at the auction image showed it had condition issues.

The price doubled in the last 40 seconds.  (Why do these early bidders even bother - all the action is in the last 10 seconds?)

Sniping just turns auctions into "Make an Offer"... The best offer in those last 10 seconds wins

Yeah, that Rocky I drive-in poster has to be very rare but I prefer the yellow "fight style" for Rocky II:

Right you are and I corrected my earlier post.  BTW what is going on at Heritage? A lot of stuff did not sell and is on "Buy Now" status. Fortunately, I'm wiped out at the moment so I ain't in the "fight."

Prices/reserves were obviously too high and the lots passed.  Now they go into "buy now" purgatory...

So much of what I was watching didn't receive a single bid or sold for under the estimate, often for well under the estimate.  Wish I had money to spend, 'cause I would've gone to town

So someone out there REALLY likes Audrey Hepburn.

Same bidder just spent $5,804 (by my calculation) on 12, 8x10 portrait photos in Bruce's auction closing tonight!

I saw her recently on Huckabee and, at 69 years of age, she still looks astounding!

This Paris-Champagne went for $155 tonight on Heritage.  This is the kind of poster that makes me mad - all my hyper-modern beauty posters look like junk compared to it:

I love hearing Mel coming round to the older stuff  ;D

This Paris Champagne is 23.5" X 31.5".  I have the 47" x 63" version folded up in storage... You are motivating me to dig it up and check it out again. When I received mine, I was a little dissapointed the colours were a bit flat. It is nice artwork, and I collect posters only for the artwork.

Very nice. I've always had a hankering for the Chantrell Quad.

Yes, it's a looking a bit bedraggled.  I've tried perking it up a bit in Photoshop, giving the title more pizzazz, and restoring the original vibrant colors:

Any surprises from Round 1 of Emovie's auction?  Most of it was not really my (plebian) style but I liked the Presto ($350) and Gold 1/2 ($950):
