There is still no Audrey on it... or Grace... Actually it is just three men - I at lease expected some noir hip - disappointed.  :(

[INSPIRED BY REAL LIFE POSTS]

I continue to amaze myself that I won this Motor Madness three sheet for less than what they usually sell for.

Very thankful that the previous winning bidder or under bidder didn't chase this up too high!!

THIS VICTORY PROVES YET AGAIN THAT I AM THE WORLD’S GREATEST MOVIE POSTER BUYER!

Congratulations Mel. It sure fits into your collection!

Bruce

P.S.  JUST LOOKED OVER THE 999 ITEMS ENDING TONIGHT AND - FOR THE 598TH AUCTION IN A ROW - I SAW LOTS OF REALLY WILDLY UNDER-PRICED ITEMS. THE ONLY THING I CAN FIGURE IS THAT PEOPLE ARE EXTREMELY STUPID! DON'T BE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE!

You're a funny guy, Mel!

Sold during HA's Session 2, yesterday, this Rolled half sheet for The Searchers[/b].

It sold for $2390.00, inc the BP.  clap

Per the auction description: This may be the cleanest copy of this rare poster we have ever offered. Rolled, Very Fine-.

This poster is JOHN FORD. IT IS JOHN WAYNE. AND IT HAS THE BEST SKYLINE. THIS FILM IS ART.

I always prefer this one to any of the other Searchers posters.  bed1

Spanish OS for Forbidden Planet just went for $850.00   ;D

Too lazy to look it up right now but that's gotta be a re-release right?

Great graphics regardless...

Yes, later issue, but it was the first Spanish release.

You're a funny guy, Mel!

Hey Bruce, in all seriousness don't you agree that it's generally a "bad" investment to linen-back larger posters (like US three sheets, and French and Italian one and two panels)?

I've picked up several good deals on larger posters from you and Heritage.  It's likely the linen-backing cost alone exceeded the recovery for the consignor.

Isn't the smarter strategy to wait and buy already-backed larger posters?

Yes. The only time to linenback a large poster is when you want to display it on your wall.

It is much like remodeling your kitchen. If you will be living there for ten years, it is well worth it, because you will love using that better kitchen. But if you will be moving in a year, then you shouldn't do it, because you won't get the money back when you sell your home, even though it looks better.

I'm away for a few days and the same monkeys from Chicago and LA are still flinging feces through the cage gates... Never changes I guess.

Heritage's auction kicked ass.. I didn't check the total sales amount, but it had to be about $2,000,000
are they selling almost $20,000,000 a year now?? Incredible

I though they did do very well over the weekend.

I am not a fan of the bp, the grading or the shipping pics but they do sell some good stuff.  I buy from em but only occasionally.  Not even close to how much I buy from Bruce or ebay.

HA made $605,500 based on a 35% rate (BP + CF)...  Wish I could fuck people that well.
