Uh...

Hmm... the 'Holy Grail' of mylars?

I should tell my buddy who was a projectionist for twenty plus years at the same theater.  They hung EVERY mylar for every film that theater showed from it's opening until the company was purchased and new management told them they had to go.

I actually picked this up for a hell of a lot less then $250. It is a pretty nice poster. It even glows in the dark on certain points. I like it.

Yeah, I saw that auction you won.  The guy was asking $1,000 obo and you won it for $75.  Probably looks cool in person, as it looks like it's pretty high quality, and the glow in the dark is cool.  Well done.   thumbup

It is pretty cool in person. I know I have not seen to many of these. The Glow in the dark part is pretty neat to. Maybe one of these days I will have to see if I can get a pic of it glowing for you all to see.

Pretty cool Japanese tatekan (2-sheet) for Psycho sold at Japanese auction for ¥626,500 (close to $8000).
Not my purchase, but a pretty amazing price for a rare poster.

That's an awesome Psycho poster Sean.  Do you know if they made anything bigger?  A B0 perhaps?

It is a beautiful poster that one and quite expensive.

That said, I cannot get out of my mind the Heritage Casablanca Insert sold this November for $190,000. That was a WTF of massive scale (excuse my French). Clearly I will never be able to afford one of those....why are posters so expensive eh? i do want one too :'(

I know exactly how you feel. I was the underbidder on the one that sold at auction in May for $27,000. Because of some scratches and minor condition issues I thought I'd wait for a nicer one at a better price.
Oops.

And yes, I think the Psycho is better than a Forbidden Planet B2 with the same old artwork you get from every other country. There were 6 bidders at the $6000+ level, so apparently I am not alone in those thoughts.

well, I will stick around and wait for Thierry or perhaps someone can explain to me why they are so expensive these days (they used to be free!) >:(  just kidding, I would have paid that money and more. Love Casablanca. end.

I agree its similar artwork but its artwork nonetheless, whereas a large portion of the psycho is photographic . Just my opinion

Psycho also has the added advantage of being a great film.

Very nice Polish one sheet from emovie tonight: http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detail&Auction_uid1=2833469

Saw this too, thought the same - very nice, probably the best art for the title I have seen.

Yeah, great stuff tonight.  One of Bruce's best sales, IMO.  Czech and Polish posters rock.  I wanted them all.

Is it just me or was there a crazy amount of bidders tonight?  Usually with the Eastern Blocs I end up bidding one on one with someone before too long.  Tonight, I was getting raised by two or more other bidders right up through the end.  And a lot of the posters I had my eyes on went for double the previous high sale price.

I had 117 items on my watch list and I feel lucky to have ended up with 20!
