Not a poster, but interesting Peter Cushing, Star wars thing. Mick found this and dropped this off the other day, he'd asked about a film, but was told Peter was away filming Star wars..

Super cool!

Thanks GemGem. The design is a great piece of Star Wars history (an interesting write up as always Ed) so I ordered one. It's a great looking print but a word of warning to anyone placing an order. The mailing tube is as flimsy as hell - the print is unlikely to survive international shipping without damage.

Mark

Regrettably you were spot on. The poster arrived with great anticipation this morning and....

Wait for it....

CRUSHED.  :'(

Very disappointed. Now I need to get them to respond because like Brie and several others here I won't pay full price for a damaged "New" poster. It is cool looking though, I do like it. The problem as described earlier is that  it is sent in a very thin tube.

I am happy to say that I have already heard back and they, to their credit, are going to send a replacement out.  thumbsup.gif

That's great news. A seller with the right attitude. Don't forget, it is very difficult to find heavy duty tubes here in the UK so do ask what they intend to use when shipping the replacement to you.

Thanks Mark, I will ask. They did not specify but he did indicate the he would "ensure this replacement travels securely in a strong tube.".

The email they sent was very good and I am happy they are committed to the quality of their sales as well. Not enough sellers are like that these days. Most wait for you to threaten them and then only reluctantly do anything.

It was kind of difficult in Japan too.......until you walked into the plumbing section of the hardware store.

whats the Aussie daybill triple bill worth?
Ewok aussie daybills and one sheets?

do you think there would be an interest in a partial 6 sheet ESB?
You see VADERS MASK, and the tagline, bottom section missing (title/credits).

It's the standard card Peter would send out, they are all typed by his secretary, and Peter would sign them. Mick was saying he thinks he still has a similar one which states he was away filming 7 Golden Vampires... He's digging.

My 10 year old nephew went with my brother in law to see  SW .

He cried, a lot, to the point that he thought it was really upsetting.

He thought the film was too long. But...He described it as the best film he had seen in his WHOLE life

Peter must have bought Joyce a new typewriter by 1990, looking at the letter I received then...  Still a nice type..

Was Joyce Mr Cushing's secretary, who typed these letters up, Paul?

This word caught my eye on the card:

Autobiograpy

   ;)

She was Jeff, she typed all the cards and Peter signed them.

I have heard a rumour that Grand Morf Tarken or how ever you spell it, Cushing's caractor is going to be in one of the next sequels and will be CGI'd in... should be interesting, even though he was supposed to have been blown up  in the Death Star..

Just for amusement value I am working up a list of all versions of all original theatrical release, IV - VI, posters out there and trying to get an idea of the population/rarity of each. Actually it is intended to go on the identification area of PosterFrom.com some day. Population numbers may not be that accurate, just estimates based on known copy counts I have tracked or commonality of seeing them for sale. I just did the RotJ style B version count and excluding domestic language variations (Spanish as an example), print variations, proofs and prototypes which will make anyone go insane there are currently known to me 17 different versions of original/first release posters in circulation. If you see anything missing from the list please feel free to share it and I will add it, long way to go. List is preliminary and subject to revision.

Have fun putting the set together Brie.

Rarity that has been added is loosely based on comic book definitions.
Common: well just what it says, they are everywhere.
Uncommon: 101 - 250 copies known to exist
Scarce: 21-100 copies known to exist
Rare: 11-20 copes known to exist
Very Rare: 1-10 copies known to exist

Return of the Jedi Style B poster list-
Insert, NSS, US PG, Common
Insert, NSS International, no/PG, Scarce
Half Sheet, NSS, US, PG, Common
Half Sheet, NSS, International, no/PG, Scarce
One Sheet, NSS, White Title, US, PG, Scarce
One Sheet, NSS, White Title, International, no/PG, Scarce
One Sheet, Non NSS, White Title, US, PG , Rare
One Sheet, Non NSS, White Title, International, no/PG, Rare
One Sheet, NSS, Silver Title, US, PG, Common
One Sheet, NSS, Silver Title, International, no/PG, Common
One Sheet, Non NSS, Silver Title, US, PG, Common
One Sheet, Non NSS, Silver Title, International, no/PG, Common
30x40, NSS, US, PG, Uncommon
40x60, NSS, US, PG, Uncommon
Three Sheet, Non NSS, International, no/PG, Rare

On the Tom Beauvais damaged quad I received.

So we are now three weeks later and I have yet to receive the replacement or hear another word from the sellers, crickets would be an improvement. I have sent out a final email to them requesting the status before opening a dispute over the transaction. I will let you all know if they respond at all. I am disappointed to say the least.
