So I was laying on the bed on my lap top yesterday, with the Telly playing by it's self in the back ground. Got up, turned round to see a clip of the new Star Wars film, and I have to say Princess Leia has Not aged well..... ;)

What show or series was this from, Paul? She looks like a headmistress from a school or something.

It should called 'Side Profile in Blue & Orange'.  It seems more manufactured than anything else...

Sounds much like the name of an artist's original work, when described like that, Jason.  ;)

Haha. The Force is strong with Jar Jar. It'd probably make a billion dollars.

I do like the new SW one sheet though montages aren't really my thing. Beautiful colors are illustration.

OK, it's actually Thora Hird from a TV show called "In loving Memory"...  There was some better shots of her with the Leia hair-do, but by the time I thought, get my camera and take a pic.... ;D

I like it a hell of a lot more than the one they had at comic-con. Sad thing is the poster is not even out yet but the poster bootleggers/reprinters/whatever are already selling them on E-Bay.

Mike,  What are your thoughts about the fact that Hamill sure seems to be missing from the poster?

It will be recalled ala ESB Billy D style.

Tickets went on sale for Force awakens pre-order style and every site that can sell them seems to have crashed from the traffic. Call me a nut but got mine already.  ;D

It does seem weird not seeing Mark Hamill there. He doesn't appear in the trailers either. Wonder if they're keeping his old Jedi look a secret.

Could be, he does not seem the type to me though to raise a stink over it though, a joke or two yes. Could be wrong.

And he would have no real call/say, most likely, on being on either the poster or in the trailer. (And why would he Not want to be on the poster?)

If nothing else, one would think he would Want to be. The more exposure for him, the better, let alone the nostalgia.  thumbsup.gif

well, whether intentional or not, its got people TALKING, which is what they want (was even on breakfast TV today in Oz- "why isn't luke on the poster?), not often you see a movie poster discussed on aussie TV.

Even though we like to say we know best, and maybe from a collectors POV we do, but I suspect the advertising gurus know a little more about what they are doing (putting bums on seats)

Theories are abound...http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Why-Isn-t-Luke-Skywalker-Star-Wars-Force-Awakens-Poster-88997.html

"...something has significantly altered Luke Skywalker's appearance, and the folks behind the film aren't entirely comfortable with exposing the hero's new look just yet. I could be anything from a jagged scar, to a missing eye, to a specially designed mask that actually covers his entire face. If this is the case, again, we probably won't officially know until mid-December."

Get yer tickets, get yer red hot tickets here..

Star Wars the Force Awakens tickets already all over E-Bay at some interesting prices. So far they are asking an average of $100 each. Wonder if there are any takers. Have a feeling that scalping is going into overdrive for the next few days there.
