The studio is running a new charity program for Star Wars:

You can give a charitable donation and get posters (including SW7 concept art) and be eligible for advanced screening of SW7:

Hmm...  I can't believe I'm going to say this, since I really like the guy's work, but I'm not so sure hiring Struzan to do the new posters would be such a good thing.  His work belongs to the past, and the new Star Wars movies need to drastically break from Lucas' last three disasters.  I don't know if Struzan, at his age, has what it takes to give a fresh creative look to the posters.

It really goes back to ROTJ.  Blow up a second Death Star?  Surely they could have come up with something fresher.

But I'm an optimist. Maybe Kasdan/Abramson will surprise us.

Kasdan, definitely.  Big fan of his, as a writer and as a director.  Much better director than JJ, IMO.  Body Heat, Big Chill, Silverado, Grand Canyon... all classics...  Oh yeah, and Dreamcatcher :)  And a great writer.  JJ...  Not a believer yet.

Star Wars was two and a half good movies, will never be anything more. Struzan or not, its moot.

Agree here. Re-hashing and trying for more might be a big mistake.

Especially bringing back Hamill, Ford and Fisher. Bringing back original cast members has been done in the past, and not to the most resounding applause, sometimes.

Schan.. do you know, or have you ever heard how many of that Starfall style were ever printed? It really is an eye grabber. Awesome color, too!

I don't think it is known Jeff.  And, given the cult following of the poster I am sure the info would be out there if it was available.

Thanks.  You know what you did.

Schan how often do you see this rerelease foil? I would like to know more about it but haven't really found anything.

I have seen it once or twice, but I can't remember where.  Definitely not something you see often, and I don't have any info on it.

It was books and action figures too.  And some bad movies.  And a few spinoffs.  And nerds, lots of nerds.

I understand that Disney needs to recoup its $4 billion investment in LucasFilm but looks they are going to quickly burn out Star Wars by putting out too many movies too quickly, one per year:

The classic business case of "burn out" is "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire":

The nighttime version initially drew in up to 30 million viewers a day three times a week, an unheard-of number in modern network television. In the 1999–2000 season, it averaged #1 in the ratings against all other television shows,[44] with 28,848,000 viewers. In the next season (2000–01), three nights out of the five weekly episodes placed in the top 10.[45] However, the show's ratings began to fall during the 2000–01 season, so that at the start of the 2001–02 season, the ratings were only a fraction of what they had been one year before, and by season's end, the show was no longer even ranked among the top 20.[46] ABC's reliance on the show's popularity led the network to fall quickly from its former spot as the nation's most watched network. As ABC's overexposure of the primetime Millionaire led the public to tire of the show, there was speculation that the show would not survive beyond the 2001-02 season. The staff planned on switching it to a format that would emphasize comedy more than the game and feature a host other than Philbin,[47] but in the end, the primetime show was cancelled, with its final episode airing on June 27, 2002.[48]

Cannot fairly compare a new phenomenon like Who Wants to be a Millionaire against a franchise with nearly 40 years of rampant support
