A few did make it to color mockups but not many that I am aware of. I have never seen or heard of the Vader head in color but agree it has great potential.

"The very first Star Wars poster by Brothers Hildebrandt, 1976, before the film was introduced"

Is he saying it is the "very first Star Wars poster"? If so, he is of course wrong.

These comments are hilarious.  Yes,most Eastern European posters are only vaguely inspired by the movie they're promoting:

Lo and behold, a bootleg poster folded to make it look like an original. I'd heard about that but never seen an example before. The seller to his credit acknowledges that it is a bootleg:

Attention Poster Nerds: I've replaced my one sheet SW Style A with a three sheet, so I'm selling my one sheet as a 100% charity auction.  As a bonus, I'm throwing in the Style C bootleg (marked bootleg on the back BTW).  Auction ends next Tuesday March 11 @ 7pm US EST:

My new three sheet (seller's pic):

Love that three sheet. Get the Italian SW and the US half sheet now to complete the trifecta.

Naw, I think after five years of move poster madness it's about time to declare victory and retire with what I have. I'd love to get the mylar advance but that's $1,000:

Lul.

I just mentioned those three, because they are my personal faves of the original film.

Craigslist is a place to occasionally find great deals.

This is not one of them:

"not many of these still exist"
I wish this was true.  It is still the oogliest Star Wars poster out there.
I think I liquidated at least 10 of them myself.

An unexpected surge of poster nerd power today motivated me to put all my remaining Star Wars one sheets. (I consigned all my prequel and commercial SW posters a while back, keeping only the best.)

I will have one addition to this collection, to be revealed on May 4 (#StarWarsDay):

These are all original theater release posters, except the Kilian 10th Anniversary in the upper left.
