Thierry, that looks awesome.

I would keep it as is, I like the gritty look as well. Perhaps send it off for a bath if it starts to deteriorate and such down the road...but yeah, keep it as is. Love it.

My kids' nanny is driving me crazy.  She looked at the poster today, has never heard of the movie, Grace Kelly or Alfred Hitchcock... thinks she's heard of Jimmy Stewart...  Yesterday, I was talking about Angela Merkel and she had never heard of her either.  She's 29 from Dublin.  How is that possible?  24 is on tonight.  Never heard of that either.  And now she lives in LA.  Talk about a culture shock.

I finally decided to put my biggest purchase of the year thus far up on the wall.  It was linenbacked years ago without any kind of restoration and probably needs a bath.  Although I kinda like its old dirty look.

Looks great up on the wall!

T,  was it backed on a thinner kind of linen? It seems that lighter weight type is more popular and used with some regularity in Europe. And i would leave it alone, too, for right now. It looks great!

The collector I bought it from had it linenbacked 20 years ago to put it on the wall and had zero work done to it.  Considering its rarity, its in stunning condition.  Since I don't plan on having it up longer than a couple of months, I probably leave it as is.

The wife doesn't like it.  Says it doesn't go with the color scheme of the room.  So I'll have to take it down soon.

It sounds like the previous owner backed it, strictly to conserve and preserve it.  thumbup
