Yes it is the double and it was framed here is Sydney, not many can do them this big and our regular framer was a tad too expensive; it is not a flip frame. The acrylic glass had to be order specially as it is a non standard size.

And thanks - we love it, more so because it has somewhere in our house we can display it properly.

One piece plexi...

Thai elephants (ask the wife why)...and in the opposite corner is an 18" tall wooded Betty Boop (wife again).

Sure....

Blame the wife for wanting an 18" tall wooden Betty Boop??

Makes sense to me... (she should be out by the pool)..  ;D

Yes.. she did that, too.

One of many talents, Miss Boop had.

Yeah, can't put that one away.  It was hiding where the albums are.  The Rear Window looks out of place now may have to switch that one out...

Saw the Africa Queen also !

After spending a couple months on the road, staying in some pretty nice hotels and seeing world renowned pieces in some of the best museums in the country, I appreciate my modest gallery and my humble abode even more.  8)

I'm not a big fan of ultra violent art, but The Terrornauts art is so far out, with the outer space and alien concept, it's an exception to my humble collection.

Why in the hell is the television facing the wall Brandon??? Everything up on the walls looks great by the way. Love the Terrornauts. I was bidding on it but set a limit as usual. Hate when it gets close to the holidays. I have to watch what I spend so I can get the kids Christmas. Looks good  happy1

I was going to ask about the TV also, but thought I might be seeing something wrong.

If some non poster person stumbled across this page on the web, what they would think first was wrong would be why have all those posters packed around the walls. ;)

The tv is a talking point backup in case guests don't comment on the posters

Thanks, guys.

RD, mighty kind of you ensure a good Christmas for your family.  Re: the TV, it's broken.  6 years ago it was top of the line and several thousand $, and now it's a dinosaur.  I originally planned on fixing it, but I'll probably just sell it.

Steve, what looks like a periscope?  The beam for the sit up board?

Glad to see Behind the Pines made it up on the wall!  And I love the Five Easy Pieces too... great flick!  Although, I have to be honest -- I sold my US 1-sheet after picking up the Aussie 1-sheet.  I dig the tag line :)

By the way, is that Lebowski B1 a theatrical release or DVD?

I think it may be a retro style tv unit. I read about one on Wikipedia discussing the history of tv design during the last century

The Place Beyond the Pines replaced the spot for the 72rr Easy Rider one sheet, that's how cool it is.  thumbup

Agreed about Five Easy Pieces.  That Aussie one sheet is interesting.   cool1

I'm pretty sure that The Big Lebowski B1 is a theatrical release.  It has the "Asmik Ace Entertainment, Inc." logo is on the lower edge, and after a little research, it appears that Asmik Ace was responsible for the foreign theatrical distribution, according to this website: http://www.asmik-ace.co.jp/english/history.html.  I should know more about it, since it's one of my favorites and one of only a few on permanent display in my modest gallery.  If I can find any more info. on it, I'll report back.

I'm pretty sure that The Big Lebowski B1 is a theatrical release.

Very easy to check: If it has an Eirin mark, it is a theatrical poster. If it doesn't, it's not.
More about Eirin marks here: http://posteroid.com/Poster%20Info%20Folder/Determining%20a%20poster's%20age.php
On modern theatrical poster, Eirin marks are often in a circle rather than a rounded box.

Interesting info., Armin.  I forgot to check for the Eirin mark.  Thanks for chiming in.

There is no Eirin mark on The Big Lebowski B1, so it's possible that it's a DVD release.  However, there is one small piece missing from the lower left hand corner, when looking at it, which may have had the Eirin mark.  Until another one turns up, or some info. about it appears, it will remain a mystery whether it had an Eirin mark.  To throw another curveball into the mix, according to japanesemoviepostercompany.com, not all Japanese posters have an Eirin mark.

I started another thread about the Eirin mark: http://www.allposterforum.com/index.php/topic,7171.0.html
